I wanted to take a minute to thank @Mpgrimm2 and @DeereGuy for suppyling the Base to 8.4 Radio Conversion Harness (7 speed Fan specific models), ATC Temp Sensor Add-On w/conversion harness, ATC Humidity Sensor Harness and 2018 Security Bypass Harness. They work great and I will post pictures on how I did the 2018 Version of the upgrade.

All this information is making my head spin. I've been reading and trying to understand the threads but it just brings up more questions.

    Where I am:

    2016 Ram Express
    - RA1 radio
    - Backup Camera in rear view mirror
    - 7 position fan
    - 3 button controls for HVAC in bezel (stock)

    Where I want to be:

    2016 Ram express
    - 8.4 4C UAS (If I come across a UAQ radio OK) to support Android Auto
    - Backup Camera in radio screen ( old eyes and that screen in the rear view mirror view don't mix)
    - 7 position fan
    - Single zone HVAC.

As of this moment I only have a single zone bezel. Picked up at a local yard.

I plan on cutting to fit the USB hub and use ABS plastic sheet for fitment..

I'l locate my own radio but need to purchase the appropriate wiring harness and HVAC control module and USB hub to make ti work.

With all the variables out there and the multiple ways others have done this It's kind of "Mind numbing" and locating and swapping parts until I find what works isn't an option.

I'll continue to read and try to understand but if I could get some assistance to 'cut to the chase' and get me started I would appreciate it.

I sold a vehicle with an android capable system and want to get back to it.

I just wanted to thank MPGrimm for the conversion and the awesome customer service. Ive had the conversion in since January and its awesome. The directions were very clear and even when I had questions, he responded quickly. The wiring was very professional and looks like the factory wiring. It also came in the mail very quickly after ordering. I highly recommend him for any of the services and products he offers.

    NICE WORK!

Why is the Single zone climate controls preferred over the dual zone?
