While I am as impatient as anyone it was 30 minutes from when you were told to send the pm and when you posted that you haven't received a response. If you have the knowledge to know the harness isn't pinned correctly then fix it and deal with the issue afterwards, posting every 5 minutes isn't going to speed the process up at all.

It has now been one hour. Once again, how do you know the pins are incorrect? I'm assuming you just expect him to send you a new harness site unseen too?

quick question, my stock set up is an RA2 with NO factory back up cam, I plan on adding the backup cam as well as the RA4, which is on its way.
my question is, do I need to get the backup cam added to vin# and XAC code flashed BEFORE if put in the RA4 or after? Or can I put in the RA4 and then go get dealer flash for cam? Does it matter?

I doesn't matter when you have the code added. Once the code is added to the BCM it's there unless you decide to remove it.

You can buy everything you need for the upgrade from the dealer except for the harness . You can get the harness required from a member here ---CuylerTech --- aka The Harness Connection , a preferred Vendor for Forum. Or from a member here ( getupkid ) he is currently moving across the country from California to Tennessee. ..

It's much cheeper to get the P/N s you require & post up what you need in the classifieds here and or search www.Car-parts.com /www.allmoparparts.com. /www.moparparts.com / local salvage yards and such. ....

Heres a few pics of where I located the module inside the dash and a few others. I didnt go too crazy but wanted the module solid and not hanging in there. I removed the lower drawer, drilled 2 holes and mounted it where you see.
Testing the ATC besel (which works fine)

Module mounted.


Since the top of the surface where its mounted was not flat I just spaced up the area with washers, installed the module, used a small rubber washer under the large washer which you can see and snugged it down.

All buttoned up till my MTC bezel shows up next week

As far as I know if it works in your 5.0 it will work on your 8.4.

Try car-part.com they usually have quite a few. Make SURE it is a VP4 NA(North America) before you buy it. Have them send you a pic of the part number on the back. They mess up alot and send RA3 non Nav units or VP4 CA which is Canada you DON'T want that one Also make sure you get the donor vin of the truck it came out of....good luck
