There is a company called www.Ravelco.com that has been around for years and they deal with cars, trucks, heavy equipment with a product that prevents an inept daily criminal from stealing your vehicle or expensive heavy equipment. This company has been around for a quite some time.
Now a true hardcore criminal will drag or tow away what they want no matter how it's disabled.
This may be what you really need as it disables several circuits and it requires a unique special key to be plugged in to make your vehicle or heavy equipment operational

Over insure the truck and the boat like I do. It will be a crappy end to your vacation if it gets stolen, but think how much fun you’ll have on the next vacation in your new truck fishing out of your new boat. Don’t forget all new fishing gear that’s included in the over insured policy.
You think a insurance company will over pay for a truck is worth? I did get a very good price on my 2009 Laramie when it was smashed. But they go by what the book says not what you want.

At least in the US, there is "agreed value" insurance where you and your insurance company agree on the value of your vehicle for the contract period. It's primarily used for classic and heavily modified vehicles and you have to be able to agree with the company up front (you can't just declare your rusted out Yugo is a $500k collectible). I've never seen a policy that didn't also restrict mileage, though I haven't actually looked for such a plan in probably 20 years or more so I'm certainly not the saying they don't exist now.

I have my 66 Buick insured with Grundy with an agreed value policy. However, no mileage limits, or if there is, they haven't asked me for my odometer reading since I've been with them the past 4 years. Got to love that kind of insurance, good coverage and real reasonable premiums (mine is insured for $20k for $184 a year). Actually I should raise that agreed value up a little bit.

My truck on the other hand, would just pay out book value minus the deductible. Never owned a boat, do some boaters insurance policies offer agreed value?

Pretty much all boat insurance is agreed value.

If you customize your truck with aftermarket goodies you can get additional insurance providing you can furnish an appraisal to repair/ replace the truck. I did this with a van I had customized that the work done was worth more than the base price for the van itself..It was ultimately stolen and I was fully reimbursed...

Back in the day I used to install audio, alarms, and video in cars/trucks. One of the simple kill switches we used to do was you would have to have the cigarette lighter ( remember those? ) pushed in. Would wire it to a relay that would interrupt the starter wire if wasn’t pushed in.

I can't remember the name of this security system? The business wires in this security system, which is completely different for each vehicle, no two vehicles are supposed to be the same. When you exit your truck you take the round plug with different type pins sticking out. Plug it in when you return. A friend had this system installed on a near new '90 something Vette back in the day in LA, cost then was over $1K! Anyway thieves flat bedded his car and it was found few days later. They never started the car & totally fubared the wiring under the dash trying to get it running. The plug had something like 20 something wires running to it, colored the same to confuse the thieves. The company had some wicked guarantee if you bought their product, can't member what it was. My friend has passed, can't ask him. You might consider picking up an old school dimmer Switch, the type you press down with your toes. Then wire in fuel pump power or something else to disable starting. Mount it high enough most people won't know it's there or WTF it is. I use them for off road lights. They are cheap to buy, last one was under $15 here in AK

A 3 dollar switch and two wires will allow for disabled ignition. My push button start 14 RT has a hidden kill switch in a location only I know. It's a simple switch that requires me to push before starting the truck.

It took about an hour to install and is effective.

It will not stop towing and if found could be effectively over ridden but, that will take time a thief does not have. Remote start still works, the fob still works and you cannot tell its installed unless you try to start the truck. Then nothing....
