So I got the vin out off a 2018 g-56 that came from the factory with
A Uaq

3C6UR5FL0JG317058

so I wondered if Benny could get me some wiring diagrams
Particularly the flow chart for the back up camera and The pin out for the back of the radio

i’ve talk to my tuner and he said that the ECM file was exactly the same for 2014 as for 2018
He said that he’s pretty confident the signal doesn’t come from the ECM anyway
So I was just wondering if there was maybe a wire change or a wire missing that connects between the BCM and the radio

another thought I had was does it possibly go through or come from the park since Module
Create an account at tech authority with a 3 day subscription and to can dig through the wiring diagrams using your vin and the one you found....

After hours of searching the only difference that I can find
Is the gateway module
The only thing that I can gather is that the gateway module somehow modify as the Signal

The gateway module sits between the BCM and the radio
you wouldn’t happen to have the connector would you

Is that this dead plug behind the radio/HVAC bezel in the lower right of the opening (see pictures)...if so, mines just plugged into a blank socket unless something has fallen out on the reverse side.f73d1faeb1906d791c2451e4cce0a91e.jpg8da6f19486d50a167f00c0d64823c468.jpg

I’ve managed to find an order an entire wiring harness out of the dash of a 2018

Using wiring diagrams I’m going to strip it down and only install what is needed.

It's unlikely that it's the security Module... It's likely a setting somewhere in the BCM ... or something related to the BCM not sending a signal out to the radio over the CANbus when in reverse.

We’re going to figure out what it is
I’ve got Bcm out of a 2018 ram with a g-56 that came factory with a uaq that I have
I have the security module
I have the entire wiring harness for the dash coming from that Vehicle
I have the actual camera that came out of that vehicle coming
I’ve checked the signal for both vehicles and both activate the reverse lights and reverse by
Grounding the same pin on the BCM

I tried to put the BCM in the other day with no result but maybe the missing link is the camera itself

Does your radio display a Blue screen when in reverse before pressing the camera button on your g56 manual trans truck? (Definitely related to a g56 truck config. Others have reported it I believe).

If not then it's definitely not the camera... Yo can remove the Lin Bus CBC wire from the tailgate connector which will force the camera on/enable it's video output anytime the truck is in RUN position ... Removes the gridlines... But if the radio isn't looking for a video signal per the CANbus (blue screen) it won't matter.

I do not get a blue screen we in reverse
However if I force the camera
I still get an error message on the top of the screen that says camera not available even though it actually comes on however
Through research it does appear that the G-56 18 truck has a different camera then any other year I don’t have it yet so I don’t know the part number at this point but I took it out of the same truck that the radio came out of

i’m going to start with swapping the camera and bcm and going through the configurations and see if that straightens it out
I physically went and checked with the application tag every pin in the BCM there’s no difference
The only physical differences in the actual wiring diagrams is that the signal goes through the Gatway module

I’ll let you know when I figure out what’s going on with it
If I need to build a pigtail that plugs into the radio connector for the gatway I could actually just build it so that it connects behind the radio
As all four cans are available there
They don’t care about blocking the OBD port

The zAutomotive SGW gateway bypass module would be a good option for you then. Just take a look at the info on the AlfaOBD official website about it so you can solder a jumper on its board for the other CANbus and you will have what you're talking about.

Has anyone attempt to install the new 12.1 inch Uconnect in a 4th gen ram? Any success?
I hope not! I just got everything the way I want it!

I better buy one now while the price is low before someone figures it out and the price skyrockets. Infotainment already want $4k for a conversion, yikes

Yeah, you can buy them now for cheaper then the cheap UASs I think. I've honestly thought the same thing.

I'm waiting to see if the 2020+ HD trucks get a 12" upgrade. If so it should make the swap easier.

Without completely butchering the center dash, I don’t see how to fabricate the 12” bezel to fit up to the 4th gen with the vent locations and everything else. I will be trying an 8.4 display screen and nav radio module out of a 5th gen, since the screen can be fitted to the 4th gen bezel, and the radio brain can be stuffed in the opening. The new radios also take a different backup camera, which is just a coax cable connection with some different settings in the BCM. The biggest gamble will be how it plays with the HVAC module. My ultimate goal is to get the fully loaded mirrors off a 2019 HD, the front camera, and the central vision process module and get the surround view working. The UAS/UAQ radios aren’t capable of displaying it, so everything hinges on whether or not the 5th gen 8.4 will work.

The 2019 HD’s get the 12” now, and it’s the same dash as the 5th gen 1500’s.

Is it? Darn, I thought the cab back was all 4th Gen (to include the dash). I guess that means the HD dash should fit a 4th Gen so that's something...
