Is there a software upgrade for a 2018 3500 8.4 4C NAV UAQ. The dealer told me I could enter my 2017 VIN and the hands free module would recognize I have a 2018 radio and would provide the correct update. When I do that I get a software upgrade, version Uconnect_VP4,18.45.01-My13-17. I am pretty confident that is for the 2017 radio no longer installed. If there is an upgrade, can someone provide a link for it.

Dealer is very wrong about that.

I have the zip files for 21.9 from infotainment (which contains updated maps but has bad audio) and 22.6 from this thread (which has good audio but no map files). Should I update to version 21.9 to update the map files and then update to 22.6 to correct the audio or should I just update to 22

Nope. there will be a sticker on the back/side of the radio that has the actual PN. May have to pull the radio unless you have pictures before the install. Should be similar to...

Tough call on that one. Mine is still on v19.9 before the audio issues and I haven't seen a reason to update it.

It’s hard to say. Your map files may be compatible with 22.6. I lost my maps, but I was updating from an ancient version. If it were me, I’d probably do 21.9 first so you know you have maps and they’ll also be as up-to-date as possible. I’m trying to decide if I should try to roll back and then update again to regain my maps. Even though I never use them, I don’t like that the feature is there but broken.

Early MY 17.5 UAx radios could access the engineering menu for a reset but they apparently removed the option for 18/19 radios.

Goto Post 8 in this thread, there you will find a link to ver 22.6, that is the one you want if you are already on ver22.1.

I had an issues with ver 19.9 were I lost all music audio output (Still had Nav audio). I would update to 21.9 then 22.6.

Just did the update on mine. Didn't look like it saw the USB then I realized I never put the truck in Run... Had remote started it before I inserted the USB. So another thing to look out for.

I wound up getting a new media hub with the sd card slot thinking that that might be the issue. didn't fix it though. im about out of ideas. may need to pull the radio to verify the part number. I can play audio from a usb so I know that works at least.

You should be able to get the part number from the System Information screen. I doubt it would be different than the one on the label.

True. im starting to wonder if its not from a 2015 even though that's what the part number has lead me to believe. Still wouldn't explain why the update screen wont come up at all. I wish there was a way to force the radio into update mode. Is there any way to update from the SD card slot?

Has anyone gotten a upgrade kit from infotainment and have been able to successfully update their radio?

I appreciate the quick response. I pulled the current software version from dealer mode and it appears I may be several behind. Any thoughts on just updating with latest? Normally prior updates are wrapped into current ones, but FCA be different.
