So I bought a bike off a nice guy with a 2017 2500 and he said his 8.4 is supposed to have nav but it's not turned on. I'm thinking maybe he has an RA3 and needs to add nav. He gave me a good deal on the Harley and I'd like to steer him in the right direction. Suggestions?

Awesome mod and thread just completed my RA3 upgrade and it went smoothly thanks to this step by step thread. Only error I had was with the pins in the female connector to the HVAC module not all being seated completely. Like Mpgrimm2 says if you have an error.... How well do you trust your harness haha.. thanks to that tip that was the first thing I began checking. Also added the navigation thanks to the ebay link and his customer support is awesome. I would definitely recommend purchasing the nav feature from him.

I JUST UPGRAGED FROM A RA1 TO A RA4 WITH NAV INSTALLED THE 911 PIG TAIL BUT STILL GETTING THE 911 SEE DEALER SCREEN DID I FORGET SOMTHING?

Check the jack on the back of the radio where the pigtail is plugged in very carefully like with a magnifying glass. I had one where the tiny center pin was bent so the pigtail did not make proper contact and the 911 message appeared. The pigtail did not feel odd when plugged in sin e the pin is very small. I managed to straighten the pin without breaking it and the pigtail worked fine afterwards. Be very very careful if you have a bent pin. Nudge a little at a time with a jewelers screwdriver until it is straight.

I was able to get my hands on some newer UAQ software updates. I posted about my findings with bugs and download links. The versions available are 28.3, 30.24 and 34.2. I also got 28.3 for the UAS.

1st check in the dealer screen and see if it has a number under map database.if it doesn't they are gone.unfortunately the radio won't let you reload the same number firmware or go back to a older one.like mpgrimm just posted use at your own risk.but I have been running the 34.2 application with a 22.5 map pack with no problems the last two days.once you use the above applications there is no going back to a ram specific application you have basically just turned your ram uaq into a wrangler jl uaq.but the jl applications will let you go back to jl applications.

Does anyone know if this will work with hardware part number 68258676AH, it's a 8.4 RA4 with Software 16.09.09, if I am reading this properly it should work, you just haven't come across that exact part number, I am in Ontario Canada if that helps.

Here is my understanding after several emails with NavRepair Support:
- 68258671xx series 2016 RA4’s are RAM compatible and the latest 2016 FW is v16.09.09 but they do not recommend it for pre-2016 Rams.

I have an update for anyone outside the US trying to install a UAQ/UAS in an older truck.
My #1 issue was AM/FM sound wouldn't work but any other type of media works fine, apperantly this turned out to be because of country the car is programmed to.
Using AlfaOBD I changed the country to US and like magic Am/Fm had sound!
It now makes sense as the UAQ that I'm using came out of a US spec car.

Does anybody know the difference is in the letters prefixing firmware versions? For example, IR, ER, AOS... seen a few different iterations, but no rhyme or reason behind them.

upgraded my 17 ram 1500 with a UAQ from a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee (68306656AA), couldn't get it to take an update at first. I was on version 19.12 and kept getting an incompatible version displayed on the screen every time i plugged the usb drive in. Found out UAQ already had the newest Map Update for Navigation so it was telling me i wasn't compatible. When I removed the map update folder from the USB it took the update.

Just want to help anyone else out there who could be having a similar issue. I was originally trying to update from 19.12 version to 21.9 (had map update in it) but decided might as well update to 22.6 without the map update.

I managed to upgrade my 2017(.5?) UAQ in my Charger from (CR) 16.11 to (ER) 18.14.

I can't seem to get it to take anything above that. I tried (IR) 21.9 and (IR) 22.5. It will give me a valid update message and after reboot, update immediately starts at 90% done and takes about a minute to get to 95% where it just resets. Radio didn't actually take the update, as it asks again if I want to update.

Anybody seen this before?

Are all of the part numbers for the 2014 AA,AD,AG,AH, etc... interchangeable or do I have to replace my 68224525AH with another AH?
