K & N Intake

Ordered the polished intake for my '09. Just wondering has anyone done this mod yet and if so were there any hiccups?

I havent done one to a 4th gen but I cant picture it being a hassel. Most intakes are around a 30 min job and K&N supplies a great step by step with alot of pics. Post what model number ya bought and I can swing over to their site to pull the how to for it.

Most intakes are easy to install. The Banks I put on my truck took about 1/2-hour.

volant took me about 15-20. Quicker than my 08, as I didn't have to remove the inner fender liner to get to bolts.

It was easy about half hour adds some nice performance and sound IMO. Attached some pics for those who care

I helped my buddy king add one to his 4th gen. Easy as cake! Sounds mean as hell too! your gonna love it!

What are your overall impressions? Is it worth the money? Has it helped power / mileage?

is there any dyno testing on this> i read their site and it had some pretty substantial HP gain claims. I dont doubt it, but just wondered if you can really pay a little cash to have over 400 HP. the ability to claim that is almost worth the money.

How loud does it make make the engine sound? I had one on my Jeep and it sounded like a prop plane taking off when I had to get onto the freeway. lol I dont really want that again. Im wondering about getting the drop in filter or the intake.

For my engine they claim it adds 7 HP. Lot of money for 7HP. But I am still going to get one.

Not many mods for the 4.7L.....I am kinda bummed about that.

The Airaid one for my truck which is 383.00, claims to add 18HP. Wonder if it's real or not.

Very loud when towing and near wot I say near because I have never needed wot as it is very fast with the gears. I like the sound because I have stock exhaust and the engine just sounds very bad ass. The polished one yields slightly less gains but costs more which I did not realize when I bought it. I am assuming since polished is metal it is likely louder than the plastic one. I would recommend it.

I ran K&N on my 2008 and it was very nice. I am holding out on my truck for Volant to come up with a kit to use my hood.

Well sold my Mopar on another board and Bought the polished K&N CAI as well just dident like the dry air filter had a GMPP CAI on my 04 SSS and hated it because of the dry filter never cleaned it lol.
