Hello all. Tried to find this answer with search but I wasn't coming up with it.
I'm looking at the kicker hideaway for my 17 ram. Looks like it will fit under the drivers seat. Maybe one for each seat?
Anyway I see that it's all in one but it's been about 15 years since I did the typical kickers and fosgate.
I'm just looking to get a little extra bass in the truck.
Kicker 11HS8 8" 150W Hideaway Car Audio is what I'm looking at.
Can someone help me understand how the wiring would work off the existing setup? Again it's been a while. Haha
Thanks in advance

The Kicker Hideaway is probably not going to fit under the driver's seat. But some people have put them under the passenger seat after relocating the jack stand.

As to wiring, i believe you simply tap into the left rear and right rear speaker wires and run those wires to the Kicker unit. Then you use the high level input option. And you have to wire a decent sized power wire (8 gauge) to your battery. I think the Kicker comes with all the wiring components needed.

The Kicker Hideaway is probably not going to fit under the driver's seat...

I have the Kicker hideaway under my drivers seat. 2015 Express Regular Cab. Fits fine, sounds great. I also upgraded the dash and door speakers.

Were there any issues installing it or in the seat movement now?

Power seats? Or no power seats?

I've got power seats and the Kicker Hideway would not have fit under my drivers seat.

You can put the Kicker Hideaway on the floor under the passenger side back seat in a CrewCab. You can put the food flat floor back in after installing the amp. The power wiring will reach the battery. The speaker input wiring should be long enough to hook up at the B pillars, I extended mine and ran them up to back to the radio.
Sound wise it's not going to to make a difference whether it's under the front or back seats.

I have a 2019 1500 Crew Cab Classic with power seats and just picked one of these Kicker Hideaways up. I didn't want to spend more than $300 but wanted a little more balance in my stereo (replaced the doors and dash with JBLs). The Kicker square sub that's made for the Crew Cab storage under the seat is nice but more than I want to spend right now. I like the Fox Acoustics boxes but I really don't want to lose my fold out panel.

I'm hoping this fits under my seat, or the passenger seat (I'll just put the tire jack in the back under the seat I think) - I'm gonna tackle it this weekend and I'll keep you posted. I've heard people say they tapped into the front speakers and it was better, I've also seen people say they tapped into the rear and it was fine. Any suggestions or does it really matter?

Last resort is to just grab a bazooka tube and take it in and out whenever I need to. I really don't want to do that but I desperately need some more powerful lows.

Also, once I've got it in there I'll take some pics and post here for everybody.

hello Brandon, try the rear door, its full range.
It should fit. I have the VSS, and fits nicely. But my 2011 Ram replaced door speakers and added a Hideaway, worked perfect for my needs.
Another option versus the Bazooka tube, is we make a Kicker TB8 and TB10, that have a woofer and a passive. IP66 certified, so no water damage or moisture will hurt.

I just saw those Kicker tubes the other day, I'd never seen them before. Are those new?

Thanks for the advice (again) - you've been super helpful!

Hey Graygoose,
Another question (sorry), for the Kicker Hideaway do you remember what other parts you needed for the install? I've seen some people say that it comes with everything I need to install and I've seen others say that I need to pick up:
- Z-Series 2 Channel Amp Install Kit
- Metra 2 Channel Line Converter

Thanks
Brandon

^^^ what @Graygoose stated
I have the Kicker Hideaway installed under the back seat, passenger side in my Crew Cab. The power wire was longer enough to run to the battery going through the clutch pedal hole. I did extend the speaker level input wires, only because I wanted to tap them in behind the head unit. If I remember correctly they made it at least 2/3 to 3/4 of the way up to the dash, you can easily reach the qires where the speakers go through to the doors front or rear.
