I don't do online banking,and not about to start,i'm old school still go to my local branch when needed

What's a "branch". They still got senior citizens standing around in those things?

I don't even carry my wallet with me much anymore. Most of my purchases are < $200 at a time and I just tap my phone on the machine and its paid. Like magic!

Hell i'd have to carry a phone then My phone usually sits on the shelf by the stairs and very seldom do i take it with me

I see people doing that and looks like black magic to me , but then I just gave up my flipping phone.
I do carry my phone mainly in case the wife needs help, btw after a 3 yr wait, gets a hip for Christmas

4.5 years after my wife shattered her knee,she finally got a new one a month ago,but now she needs the other one and her hips done.
Because of compenstating for the shattered knee for so long,everything else has gone to hell now.

They way it works in really simple terms; first the phone has to be unlocked, so that scammers can't just scan your coat pocket while walking by. It also uses NFC (near field communications) so radio range is very small, like probably < 1 foot, some cheaper android phones might not have an NFC chip but they should be quite common these days.

You tap the phone on the terminal and the phone sends your bank card PIN which you must have already imported into your phone's "wallet". Then it's no different than any other in store payment we've been doing for years, the terminal passes your PIN to the bank and it all goes from there.

For years already you can also just tap your bank card directly (withing having to insert it into the terminal), so this is basically the same thing except you store your bank card in your phone instead.

They say that hips are easier to do the knees, By the time her right side is fixed, the other one is going poor ,but one thing at a time.
She really misses her flower beds and walking. I know weeds, flower not so much.
