Because 99.99% of the catch can guys on here have the BT and that's how it works, so all the write-ups and pics show it that way?
I think the bottom drain is clever but I'm biased :waytogo:

I have the black Husky version. Mine sucked outside air (vacuum breaker) no matter how I tried to tighten down the drain, so I pulled the spring and RTV'd it closed.

Now its right and tight.

Okay, never thought of them letting air in,i know the one on my air compressor holds pressure good, but never thought of how a vacumn would affect it.
Thanks guys.

Im new to dodge. Only had it two weeks but what is this catch can thing? I have an Express with the 5.7 Hemi. Sorry for being an idiot.
The Hemi moves a lot of oil vapor out of the Pollution Control Valve (PCV). All that gunk is piped back into the intake manifold just below your throttle body. Over time all that crap can accumulale, reduce the octane of your fuel, and cause your sensors to read incorrectly.

By installing a can that forces a direction change or has a filter (commercially made for the purpose or kit-bashed from an air compressor filter), oil condenses back to a liquid and accumulates in the can for disposal instead of reaching your intake manifold.

Kudos to Casper for a simple yet detailed explanation on the use of a catch can! :rocking:
