So I have broken exhaust studs... surprise surprise. My question is has anyone replaced with other than stock? There are some I have seen on Ebay and other sites. I have recently received my Kooks headers and catted y. looking to upgrade hardware, any suggestions?

There are two types of studs for the manifold, one that allows for a heat shield to mount to, so I'm not 100% sure you can replace those, but they are only half of the bolts. The remaining ones you might be able to get something better.. the problem is the manifold bolts that tend to break are the ones that mount to the heat shield as well..

I'm sure someone else will chime in and maybe have a better option.

Not looking to replace heat shields. I didn't think header heat would effect too much.

Are the 2018 models still affected by these broken studs? Did they ever fix the issue or have a recall about them?

From my limited research there really is no fix for it due to the higher heat in the rear portion of the manifold.

No recalls that we know of. There is a "dealer alert" to check manifolds for cracks or warping. Check manifold bolts for loose, broken or missing. I have read on this forum several threads that talk about what others have done. I believe it is ATR bolts that members recommend. Have also read that they have used number 8 replacement bolts. The thread will tell you what size and thread pitch you need.

I've currently got 1 broke on mine just happened last week and it's a 2012. Where I work we have a fleet of police chargers I take care of and we have done this about 6 times in the last 2 years on chargers. Same exact bolt.

I've been looking for this info yet to find it? Any help appreciated. Want to put something better in like ARP? Just no clue of the size

I know it will take some time. But in the forum archives under manifold bolts or exhaust leak etc. Members have posted the correct size, length and thread pitch for the manifold to the aluminum heads. You are right ARP is the brand I read is a better quality bolt.

Well a extractor kit from craftsman and all is well. 1 broken stude came out pretty easy. Replaced with Stage 8 bolt kit with locks.
