This is my 1st & probably last ram.I love almost everything about it other the shoddy build quality & tremendous lack of power. This brings me to why i'm starting this thread.I have a 15 dodge cc ram hemi 4x4 with 3:21 gears & i need to know if theres a twin or single turbo for this pig & if theres a snowballs chance in snail that it can ever be fast without spending enough $ to actually buy another sports car instead?
I know i'm gonna hear about gears but really I'm not looking for a momentary quick burst i want real raw power not a temporary bandaid ti just get me excited only to be passsed soon by almost any other newer truck.

well your problem is your gears. Plenty of power (for a truck) but you have pathetic gears, unfortunately you need a different front diff for different gears for that year.

Sorry to hear your disappointment with the truck. I am so far loving my certified 2013. The first owner of my truck loved it so much that he ended up trading it in for two 2015 Rams (a 2500 work truck and a 1500 "commuter" truck).

If you buy or agree to something without liking it, thinking putting money into it will change your mind, you're mistaken. You have to love what you're agreeing to or buying on some level at initial purchase/decision, otherwise you never will really love it.

I know that doesn't help you with your "add power to my Hemi" problem, but no matter what we tell you to do with your truck, it sounds like you won't be happy. Maybe you just had a bad day, but thats how it appears. If you got a bad apple of a Ram, trade it in for another. But do your research: learn about the gear ratios and options that will help the truck feel more powerful. Those are important no matter what truck you buy. The reason why the Tundra and Titan trucks seemed more powerful and faster than the equivalent Ford, Chevy, Ram, etc. when they were first released was not necessarily because their engines were so much better, but mostly (if not completely) because they had higher gear ratios out of the gates.

Said it to you in another thread and I'll say it again here. Sell it and go away. Your post history is 1:1 "How do I mod this truck" and "This truck is junk"

If you have turbo money then you have new truck money. Buy a ford and go annoy them with all the issues you have with it.

I'm not really sure what you expect..look at any full size street truck. You won't be getting into the 10's with it. My 2015 CBR600RR Supersport is just barely in the 10's..and that's what it's made for..to go fast as hell.

Man even a 2012 Lamborgini Gallardo only does the 1/4 mile in 11.3...so how in the hell does a 12 second Ram not impress you?

Matt's ram just did the 1/4 mile in like 12.39 right? That's 1.09 slower than a Lamborgini Gallardo...One Mississippi, that's all. That's damn fast for a truck.

Hell...I thought my ram was quite impressive speed wise before I lifted.

Even now, it won't win races but it'll still get up n go when I need it too.

I decided to trade my 15 superduty in on this ram due to it being a very nice riding truck & in my opinion the best in that dept, but i had hoped to @ least be able to build the hemi up as i could of tuned an ecoboost & ran mid 12's or supercharged the 5.0 but instead i have a hemi with apparently no performance potential at all as folks are bragging about a fairly heavily & light truck running mid 12's.
I'm just trying to see if theres anyway to get more out of it or to just deal with it for a year & trade it in for a 17 superduty.

I'd love min to be a 12-10 sec truck too.
But get real, it's fast for exactly what it is.
Gobuy a bike. It still took 12+year of bike riding to make me realize vehicles are and always will be slow. I always knew they were slower, but they satisfy differently. Like having women onboard and stereos.
Bikes are fast. Vehicles aren't.

Unless you got 100k+ for z06 money.

Srt10 ram maybe? Can be had for cheap and then lots o mod money. But you already knew about them right??

You CAN and ARENT afraid to turn a wrench are ya? It tougher than pushing keys on a board. Either build the damn thing or sell it. Buy something more suitable and fun

Nobody makes a turbo kit for these trucks. There are multiple supercharger kits available though, and at 6-7lbs, should get you around 450hp to the wheels. Add all the bolt on parts to that, and you will be pushing closer to 500hp to the wheels.

I traded in my 300 SRT for my ram and going from the 6.1 to the 5.7 took some getting use too.

But I went into it knowing that it was a truck and it wasn't going to be driven fast but to haul/tow ****.

Hence why I've only done a couple mods engine wise and wasn't gonna dump a bunch of money into the 5.7.

But there is another SRT in my future...that's for sure. :naughty:

I don't see how you can say these trucks are underpowered?? For what they are and ESPECIALLY the 8 speed trucks are pretty damn quick out of the gate. I know the 6 speed trucks (aka glorified 4 speeds) are not super quick but will still run circles over the ford, Chevy and Toyota V8 counterparts.

I have driven all of the main trucks excluding Titan, and the Ecoboost is the only one that runs right with the Ram and in most cases beats it because of the serious torque curve it has. Thank you twin turbos... I haven't driven a new 6.2 8spd Chevy but could careless because it is far out of my price range for a truck. For that kinda money I could get a new Scat Pack and run circles around it with lots of money left over for performance. These trucks were NEVER meant to go fast. You want to talk about build quality...? The other trucks don't even compare except the Tundra which has a very nice quality interior but kinda fugly if you ask me.

Do yourself a favor and either sell your truck for another diesel or go step out of the box and build a turbo setup for the truck and have it custom tuned. You never know it just might be enough to tickle your pickle. I am building a 9 second Dakota and I wouldn't say I have sub standard expectations when it comes to speed or quickness. These trucks are plenty quick for what you should be doing with them. If you wanted fast, go buy a sports car or build the Hemi like you want to.
