Real world application here : My Ram ((lack of) mods in my signature) took out my buddy's LSx FD RX-7 last night from a dig. Oh, I was hauling his slicks for him at the time too. Lol

Point of that story is that: vehicle setup is the most important part. "Raw power" doesn't mean **** if you can't use it. OP, your gearing, even with the 8 speed, leave's acceleration performance on the table, at the expense of *maybe* 1-2mpg if you're frequently cruising at 80mph+ on the highway (I don't). Just like my friend's awesome 400whp 2700lbs RX-7 can't do much with street tires on (no traction... ever...).

I came from nothing but sports cars since I started driving. Did it take a while for me to adjust from a 3000lbs 400whp+hp car to 5000+lbs 400bhp truck, yes. And I still am. But every time I get frustrated from a high performance standpoint, I remind myself why I bought this beast.

Trust me...I'd have a z06 in my drive way if I could.

Just a liiiiitle out of my price range...but that's a whole lotta thread jacking right ther.

You can get more for your money with a HC over the Z06. I looked it a ZR1 and it was priced at $112K and it's only like 600 and something HP. From the bone stock dyno pulls on YT of the new HC's they putting close to 800 to the wheels.

This is my 1st & probably last ram.I love almost everything about it other the shoddy build quality & tremendous lack of power. This brings me to why i'm starting this thread.I have a 15 dodge cc ram hemi 4x4 with 3:21 gears & i need to know if theres a twin or single turbo for this pig & if theres a snowballs chance in snail that it can ever be fast without spending enough $ to actually buy another sports car instead?
I know i'm gonna hear about gears but really I'm not looking for a momentary quick burst i want real raw power not a temporary bandaid ti just get me excited only to be passsed soon by almost any other newer truck.

Did you actually test drive the truck before you bought it?

Just because their isn't a turbo kit doesn't mean it can't run one. You could always make your own twin turbo kit and then run a supercharger with a couple kits of nitrous.

That would be cool.

On stock internals.

Maybe they make one of these for the ram? It's probably not fast enough but at least probably makes up for a small dinky.

First and foremost, you need to make your expectations more realistic.

These trucks are as fast as any Lightning or SRT-10, and those were $50,000 when they came out and used forced induction and a stupidly large motor to be that fast.

In short, these are the fastest trucks out there for what they are.

If you want a race car, go buy a race car and stop ******** that your truck isn't fast enough. It's a truck, it's made to tow race cars, not be one.

I love my truck. It tows like a DREAM, gets fantastic mpgs, is pretty damn quick, and is comfortable. It has its problems but so will every car ever made.

If you don't like yours, get something else and leave us alone.

I'm missing 2 cylinders
Okay so tow mirrors is 75+ hp, that should keep you happy for a little while. But when your get bored of that, each sticker you put on is 10 hp, and synthetic blinker fluid is 6.53 times better than nitrous, so do that too.

Woah woah woah man...you forgot the real power adder.. A Catch Can!! Easy 100 hp right there... and if you want to get really serious add a second!

The only thing OP will have to worry about now will be if his tranny can handle all that power! I've heard replacing the tranny fluid with redbull should help though.

I decided to trade my 15 superduty in on this ram due to it being a very nice riding truck & in my opinion the best in that dept, but i had hoped to @ least be able to build the hemi up as i could of tuned an ecoboost & ran mid 12's or supercharged the 5.0 but instead i have a hemi with apparently no performance potential at all as folks are bragging about a fairly heavily & light truck running mid 12's.
I'm just trying to see if theres anyway to get more out of it or to just deal with it for a year & trade it in for a 17 superduty.

If you are willing to " supercharge" a 5.0 why are you not jumping on doing this to you Hemi ?
The correct gear ( which your truck does not have) long tubes a good tuned supercharger and a few other mods would make a word of difference.

2 cents - I've owned 2 SRT-10s a quad and regular cab - neither one of them remotely compared to the improved driveability and usable power this Gen 4 hemi Ram has. In my opinion of course. Back to OP - You could probably cam it for under a grand if you own the tools, tune it for $500, Headers for say $600 if you go OBX or whatever they're called, Catless 3 exhaust with an X pipe say another $500 if you know someone..So $2600 or so might net 1 or 2 ponies. Open that wallet. :)

He'd probably think it's still slow.

Nevermind that there are several trucks on this forum that are likely faster than his 5.0. I know my truck is slightly faster than my brothers 2012 5.0, but his is bone stock.

He doesn't seem to be coming back to reap the benefits of our suggestions and advice to his legitimate problem...
