Ohk I couldn't take loud pipes anymore......I kept getting pulled over and I couldn't take my radio full blast no more. So my truck is almost silent......I am gonna replace my cat and put a resonator on it soon. But here's how it is for now.

lol If you think that's quiet mine would be completely silent.

At least you won't be getting pulled over all the time anymore.

While I agree a 40 series is far from quiet, it's certainly quieter than straight piped / catless.

Here is what I don't understand: I test drove a truck that was straightpiped with no cat and it really wasn't that loud.

I don't get it.

Shoulda put a cherry bomb vortex, you wouldnt have even heard the truck running :D

Dual 3" Straight pipes with 5" tips? Your ears must have rung every time you got out!

There are plenty of variables. Where it exited, power of the truck, size and type of tubing used etc etc.

I had a cutoff exhaust for a week. I ordered the quietest muffler I could find :) Flows just as well as a 3" straight pipe too :peace:

It was cool for like an hour, then I got sick of it lol. That was just with a stock cat and 2 1/2" pipe.

Exactly. I've got a Thrush Turbo. Just the right amount of loud for me.

^Bingo.
I dunno how people can deal with it, I really don't. My Thrush is quieter on the highway than the stock muffler it replaced.

Go figure.
