I have a 2020 2500 Tradesman Hemi OFF ROAD with the factory cab length running boards, has anyone lowered them to be a bit closer to the ground. With the OR package the truck sits about 3" higher than the regular 4X4, and they're too high. If not able to modify current configuration, are there other RB's that sit lower, the depth from the body is fine so that isn't a problem. Having size 15 shoes doesn't help much either....

Best bet is the power boards. I have the factory ones on my 2021 2500 with the Offroad package and they are great. Come down well and lots of room for your feet. The problem with fixed boards that are a bunch lower is hitting stuff off road. These suck up tight to the body when not in use.

With the AMP power boards, they also make extensions to drop them another 3 inches I think.

I’m sure you could make some kind of extensions to lower them if you are handy with a welder. Biggest issue would be the bracket is bolted through the pinch weld under the rocker panel. This was started back around 2013-2014. Before that, the boards were just bolted to the inner rocker panel.
Trouble with that was the inner panel would start to form cracks and the board would get loose. The Riv-nuts could actually even pull out and the running board would need to be removed.
The pinch weld bolts really helped to eliminate all the stress on the Riv-nut bolts.
I noticed too that the stock Limited running boards were a little high. I installed the Amp Power Boards, they extend outward and down, and are near perfect to get in/out of the truck.

I have Aries power steps. Easy to install.

When we looked at the ‘19’s we found a couple non OFF ROAD trucks and the OEM wheel2wheel RB’s seemed lower than the cab length. When we finally HAD to go to the RAM 2500 the only one on the lot with the Hemi was ours with the OFF ROAD package. Just the $1400 chunk for the electric boards is a bit much right now.

For much less money you could add a set of Hoop steps and you wouldn't have to move the existing boards or you could take the boards right off.
