SInce your intake is off, pull the oil control valve and check the screens for metal shavings.

It is odd that you have no tick, but you are right in the ballpark for a cam/lifters.

Yea i should have done that when I had it off to change the gaskets I get home on the 14ths and right away I'm pulling the valve cover drivers side cranking it to see what the deal is... this has been a journey and a half i bought a new vehicle in the meantime but fixing this truck would give me alot of satisfaction even though it's at 330k km

I have 201k miles on my '15 Hemi, going through the bad lifter/cam thing as we speak.

And life keeps getting in the way.

That, I am not sure. This is my first time with this issue (and hopefully my last). There are plenty of members here that have done this more than once who can better answer that.

I would recommend OE parts for all things critical (lifters, cam, timing, etc.)

Mine's gonna get OE parts for all internal stuff, figure it's gonna be 3k+, but it is what it is, and I don't want to have to do it twice.

There's lots of counterfeit parts on amazon. I would say buy from a reputable source.

All of course, after verifying the definate problem components, IMO. Yours not ticking is definately odd.

I have good spark fuel , injector, coil pack and i got the pcm checked by the dealership. I have a 2011 ram 1500 5.7 with 330k km. I have a p0303 misfire I can't figure out. I changed my intake and valve cover gaskets did a leakdown and compression test and vacuum test and everything came back with great results. I hear 0 ticking either. I noticed looking though pictures after I got the valve cover back on that cylinder 3s valve spring and rocker arm sit significantly lower than the others could this be a worn spring? Such a simple fix it hope it is should all the rockers be sitting at the same height?

I've heard of a couple broken inner valve springs causing this.

Not really.
A word of caution, My truck never had metal filings in the VVT solenoid, but still required a full rebuild. My friend's truck, he was able to get away with the cam and lifters.
Go ahead and source your favorite supplier for parts, but I would dig into that motor before ever buying a kit ahead of time, as you may end up returning the parts, if even possible, or selling them to get a crate motor anyway. ( my cam bearings were toast, and had some wear in the cylinders )
Also, if you don't know of a good shop to do the work, that also can be a problem, unless you can do it all yourself.
I have a MMX cam kit (mild) from Moe's. Buddy went with Texas speed. No idea who is the best. I'm sure there are many others.
Lots of parts are cheaper online at places like moparpartsdirect.ca, there is probably 4 online Canadian parts suppliers, the price is significantly lower that the local dealer. You would need to check shipping cost and part availability, and the return policy is not good. So you would need to make sure you need the parts.
