I'm currently doing a retrofit and have found that I am regretting not doing my homework on this project as I should have.
I bought everything from trs and starting to regret this purchase. Everything except the mini h1 and shroud. But I digress.
Can anyone confirm that 15+ (non projectors) are using pwm signal to:
1. Low beam
2. Hi beam
3. Fog light
4. Parking
5 turn signal?
Here's what Ive found in my research:
1. Stock Low beam maybe even fog light flickers randomly. I've notice this on my non projectors. This is due to pwm signal dropping out. So no canbus load resistor needed. I found xenon depot sells a pwm module which does not require a separate harness for constant power. I'd like to confirm if the hi and fog are also using pwm.
2. I have morimoto x-vf switchbacks installed currently with only a load resistor on the turn signal circuit. Nothing on my parking lights and can confirm that they flicker at startup and also have "bulb out warning".
3. I rather not use load resistors if the circuit is actually pwm. It may work but is totally inefficient.
TRS sells their 15+ harness with two load resistors running parallel for each low beam. Very disappointed. This is the lazy approach and I will probably either return it or sell it at a lose.
I tried to do a search on here for pwm and didn't get anything. So this is a warning to others, I wouldn't buy the trs harness or ballast.
