Found this crack while washing the truck today, hasn't been curbed and nothing has hit the rim that I know of. Seems to be a straight line but no damage to the tire anywhere.

Would you take it in to be looked at and if so, dealer or tire shop?

Looks like it might just be the chrome? Hard to tell.

I'd get it checked if it looked like the aluminum was cracked. Maybe just pop the bead to see if there's signs of the crack in the rim on the inner side of the lip. Hit any big potholes or rocks at high speed?

If you have warranty then dealer. If not any tire shop. I've seen guys crack and even break off aluminum rims off road. Could be a casting flaw as well so if there's no sign of an impact on the rim and you still have some warranty it should be covered.

What year is the truck?
Is it still under warranty?
Are those the original wheels that came on the truck?

I would pull into a local tire shop and let them inspect it so I had some ammo before going to dealer.

A crack in your wheel ? .... Uh yeah you should get it checked ... Unless you wanna find out it is a serious crack by having an epic failure at 60 mph

If you choose to go the epic failure route please post a video of it ;)

Just wanted some affirmation that I wasn't crazy for going to get it checked out.

No, no potholes or rock hits or anything.

It's a 2015 with 35k on it, and yes, these are the original sport rims.

The sport rims are polished aluminum not the chrome clad style so the damage is in the aluminum for sure. How deep is the only question.

Are you sure it is a crack? In the pics it looks like spattered road tar to me. Take some WD40 on a rag and if your crack wipes off you have your answer. If it is indeed a crack I would not drive on it period.

My clad rims look like that but those are aluminum correct? Would definitely be cheaper at a tire shop, but if you have warranty left, then go to dealer for a replacement.

Or an excuse for some new shoes all the way around.
