Finally starting to get rid of that chrome!

Nl19Zvp.png

Still debating the best way to about the front bumper. Not sure if I should wrap the chrome in white. Or if it would be better for me to shell out for a sport bumper conversion. Also not sure if I should just paint the chrome grill bars black, or find some honey comb. Personally I think the honey comb will be the final results. But at least the chrome bars match the bumpers for now.

If you decide to do the sport bumper swap, I'll take the top bumper off of your hands

Well I was cleaning up the truck and decided that I needed adjust the projectors in my headlights.

eZJxAOM.png

Well after they were completed, the bulb bracket slipped out of my hand and fell into the light and I couldn't retrieve it. So thankfully I have this extra set sitting around.

Since I have to take my white ones apart, I think I'm going to spice them up a bit. Possibly a new paint scheme, possibly some additional lighting. Guess we shall see!

Nothing really new. Had to move quickly for work, so I had to go from my house and garage to a small apartment. Pretty disappointed in that life wise, but what can you do I suppose. I have to say that I love this truck and putting up with all my crap lately. Was able to move my entire living room and washer and dryer in one load. I was ridiculously impressed!

I have my white headlights fixed and back in, and I'm happier with their output. But I'm going to build another set with a bit more back lighting and some other goodies at some point. But nothing much has changed. Truck is FILTHY and I'm truly disgusted by it, but I'll get it cleaned up this weekend.

Not a whole lot has changed with the truck. Work is being a pain so I don't have much time or cash flow to use for parts at the moment. Traded the grill for honeycomb a few weeks ago. But aside from that, about the same. Gets a bath once a week, needs a few coats of sealant and wax now that spring has arrived. Still looking to wrap the chrome bumpers or get painted bumpers and handles. I'm planning another retrofit for the truck and doing a set of fogs once I have some time and cash. But that's all for now!

Life has kept me really busy with a new house, new engagement and a new job. So I feel the vehicles have been neglected. I've purchased goodies to do my next retrofit and included some demon eyes and RGB halos for the quad housings. Just need another set of quads and I'll be under way with those. Also have a pretty good air leak in two of the tires. With the truck have 30k on it now, I need to figure out if I want to get new tires or try to acquire some sport take offs. I would love some SRT or RT wheels, but I don't see those fitting in the budget. Planning on having the chrome removed with the tax return next year. But that's all for now. She still gets washed every week but she needs a little of compounding as the wind here hasn't helped my cause in keeping a flawless shine. But some slights swirls are inevitable after two years.

Cheers all, hope to have some more updates soon.

Well hot damn, been over three years since I've posted my truck here.

Bought a few houses, got married, got some dogs, works has been hectic....so the truck has been on the back burner. Only getting regular maintenance. Well, I'm happy to announce, she's fully paid off!!!

Have her a detail over the weekend and been wheel shopping. Decided I'm going with bronze hellcat reps. Then I'll be rebuilding the headlights with a bronze projector shroud to subtly match the wheels. Then over time, I'll be getting white front and rear bumpers with a 2/4 drop. Anyways, just wanted to say hello again old friends.

Nice truck! I like how the black inserts on your wheels tie in the headlights and tail lights. Very cool!

I'm acquiring parts for my next headlight retrofit and have kind of come to a crossroads. I want my retrofitted headlights to match a fog light retrofit in the future. But I've hit a snag, I can't use the same shroud on both headlights and fog lights. So here's my debate.
  • Continue with my headlight build using my Turbine shrouds. I can add back lighting to the shroud like I planned. But I'd have to get the Morimoto fog lights. Not a bad option, but not sure if that's the route I'd like.
  • Change my headlight build to use Gatling shrouds again, that way the headlights and fog lights match. Won't really be able to do any sort of accessory lighting to match. Kind of a bummer. but probably for the better.
In either case, I want to run 3000k fog lights. The 5500K headlights I run are just awful on wet roads. in the mean time, I picked up these LED bulbs off of Amazon. They come with bulb covers that give you 3000k, 6000k and 8000k output. Put them in last night and love the color, which is really hard to photograph on an old phone. My driveway is on a slope, so that's why the output doesn't look like it extends very far. But I'm headed out tonight to see how they actually work.

Future plans for the year are new plugs and brakes. Also added a remote start of some sort. Was quoted $900 at the dealership, which ofcourse I will not do. So I'm looking at other option. As stated, I'm hoping to get my retrofit situation figured out by this summer and get the new build done as well!

Looks like it's going to rain tomorrow, but truck was disgusting. So gave it a bath today.

Also, the yellow fogs were quite nice last night. A little strange, but could definitely see. We'll see how they do. In the meantime, here's the next project. Retrofitted OEM fogs with Matchbox projectors. I'll be painting the housing black and shroud white to match my headlights.

Had someone pull out in front of me while heading to work and I BARELY stopped in time. Once I got to work, I immediately bought a Powerstop brake kit for the truck.

I attempted to put the brakes on over the weekend. Pulled the pads and they didn’t look bad for 6 years and 105k miles. But the front rotors were so seized on the hubs, I couldn’t get them off. Penetrating oil, hammers, long bolts to push them out, jaw pullers....nothing. So I threw in the towel and brought it to the dealership since the truck needed recall work done. They were able to get the brakes on for $80/axle. Not bad at all.Trucks/wheels are filthy from headed to a job site.

These brakes are AWESOME right out of the box. I never thought my brakes were worn out, but seems like it! Terrible picture on the truck, I’m sorry.

Headed to the beach in the next few weeks, so I think I'm going to pick up Weathertech mats and in-channel visors. Open to other options if anyone has any input!

Sadly, I hit a bump with the driver front wheel and the truck no longer reads the TPMS. Have to get that taken care of before this trip. Hoping it just needs to sync the sensor up again.

Finally, had a car pull out in front of my while I was going ~50mph. If I hadn't replaced the brakes, I would have collided with that car. Only have ~1,000 miles on these brakes, but they are wonderful at this point!
