They would have to prove that something you added, caused the problem. Very hard to do especially depending on the state you live in. Mike knows a metric **** ton about Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, he will chime in soon I’m sure.

Is seems everyone with the 66rfe is seeing an average of 40-50 degree drop. We will see for sure in the summer temps. Im guessing if i run 172 normal i will be at 130’s in the summer.

It's been around 60 here so far this weekend and my trans temps have struggled to get to 120 a couple times. When you bypass the TBV your trans will be 130-140 unloaded in the summer.

The deep pan did nothing for me in terms of temp. But having more fluid is always good.

Its around 100f + here in the summer. so that should be a good test.

Keep in mind tho you put that deep pan on before you bypassed the TBV...

Yup.

And i logged months of temps before the pan install. I saw no difference after the install.

Doesn’t mean others wont see a difference. I just didn’t.

But more clean fluid and a drain plug is a GREAT reason to do it.

Now that my temps are far below the previous average with the TBV removed - I would really be very much content with a stock OEM pan that had a drain plug - That Didn't Leak!

I have read so many horror stories of the Dorman Pans that come with a drain plug, over 85% of them leak at the drain plug.

I'm all for saving $200 but I dam sure don't want a leaking transmission pan.

I might as well just quit concerning myself with the thought and go with my first thought and choice the PML!

I just hate spending that kind of $$$ if there is really no need! :****sweak:
Which reminds Me - I need to stop by Atwoods on the way home and purchase a large jug of Miracle Grow again for that Frickin $$$$ Tree I planted (Out Back) last spring!

I didn't explain my point very well, even if the pan did lower your temps at all the TBV closes when the fluid gets cooler than 170 and then the trans heats up to 170 again. Pretty much negating any cooling effect of the pan. Now that you've bypassed that POS you stand a better chance to see some cooling from the pan
