Since I have put my shortys on I have had a pesky 219b code pop up at random times. I usually just clear it but it is coming back sooner and sooner each time. I am looking to get long tubes for this truck as well as a cat back and intake. my question is with tuning it we’re ordering the tuner do I let them know what mods I have is that they will write me a custom tune for it? Also will that take care of any Codes. 2018 express 5.7

P219b is a air/fuel imbalance. Shorty headers won’t cause that, unless you’ve got a exhaust leak before the o2 sensor.

I currently have a small exhaust leak on the passenger side at the manifold and I too have popped P219b.

Check for any missing bolts. I'm missing one completely. One was backing out but I got to it in time however the gasket is shot now.

I've already ordered new gaskets and arp bolts. I'm trying to squeeze a cam install in to justify it.

I am just going to swap to longtubes and have a shop install this time and then just have a tuner ready to install a tune which will hopefully keep codes away and make it run better

You wouldn’t want to disable those codes anyway even after long tubes. If they were and your engine actually was running lean/rich the CEL wouldn’t turn on and you could possibly end up hurting your engine.

Long tubes won’t cause any codes unless you remove the cats, but if you do cat less you can disable the rear o2 sensors without causing any harm.

Careful on the rear O2 sensors, I think with a Diablo tuner the tuner can't shut them off, just keep the codes from popping up. I went through this when installing a wideband O2 sensor and misunderstood what Jay Greene told me, had my truck running rough until I had the rear sensors reinstalled.

True, you need to be able to disable them to do it properly. I’m fairly certain hp tuners can disable the rear o2 sensors, not just the codes.

Even with HP tuning, you should still leave the rear 02's plugged in,just tie them up out of the way. They don't need to be in the pipes, but they do need to be plugged in.

I am going with catted LT arh headers and the arh catback system. Plus an intake thats all i am doing. I am new to the tuning thing and dont want codes popping up all the time and want to tune for performance to maximize the header and intake etc.

Then make sure to check exhaust leaks and O2 sensor wiring. If the problem still persists it could be the upstream O2 sensor. Luckily they are only $35 to replace :D

If you're still under the impression that you can tune out the code P219b you cannot. When you have exhaust leaks at the manifold your tuner will see it in the log. I sent Jay my file and without telling him anything he responds fix your exhaust leaks first.

I am going to have all neW headers Installed from shorts to long tubes by a shop with cats. When i order the tuber from moes i will let them know what mods i have so they can write a custom tune for me. Will that keep codes from popping up?
