Older than dirt. Actually what I have read here has discouraged me from pushing the truck. Silent Generation!Damn how old are you, even my wife see's a 100 mph fairly often, lol. Hell the day she brought her 1320 home, the car only had 50 miles on it,from the dealership to our driveway, and when i checked the top speed, she'd already had it to 150 mph,and the car was brand newSomewhere in that 50 miles, she'd already gave it a good run

Actually the Hemi isn't an engine you want to baby,it'll live a longer and happier life if you do drive it a bit aggressively.Cranksplash is all that lubricates the cam and lifters,so the harder you drive it,the more crank splash getting to the cam lobes.Older than dirt. Worst mistake i ever made was sticking my wife in my old 68Z at the dragstrip when we were first dating, she's been drag racing all our toys since then, and that's going on 41 years nowI drop the hammer and pass 3 grand every time I am out of the driveway and am on asphalt. Passing I do what I need to be quick and safe - just not the Ton yet.
BTW, though she doesn't have a muscle car, the Wife has a lead foot as well!

I had a guy in my shop on my ship in the Nav like that. I used to say he was the kind of guy that would find a $10 bill on the street and ***** that it wasn't a $20. After a few months bobbing around on the high seas underway you wanted to toss him over the sideGuys cried about no availability of a no etorque/no stop start hemi. Ram gives us that option. Guys cry it's not cool because they also gave us the 6.4L in a half ton guys were crying for and a street version of the TRX guys were crying for.
My guy, if you want the fastest truck get a HO Hurricane and forget the N/A Hemi all together. If you want old school cool, you just got offered it in three flavors.
I swear some of you would ***** about a goose that laid gold eggs because the eggs were hard to stack.

Fair enough because not everyone wants a pickup for non-pickup stuff.Yeah, or guys who can easily afford it but want a more practical fun truck. The 6.4L is the sweet spot for me. I need more info before I decide I'm a buyer, but it's the first half ton Ram I've been interested in for awhile. I'd have jumped ship to Ford before this if I stepped back down from an HD.
I never seriously considered the TRX over the Power Wagon because of how I planned to use it.
I really hope they don't saddle these with the peanut tank like they did the TRX. Ford puts the big boy tank in the Raptor because they know people who actually use them as intended don't want to carry 5 jerry cans...

I'd have to believe the 6.4/392 version will sell quite well and possibly close to what the base version will by the numbers.
Almost makes me want to checkout a 392 version if the local dealer here gets one in but must admit I'm happy with what I've got now.
I think that the 6.4 should have been an option in the 1500 from the beginning of it's availability.
Towing with the 6.4 w/8 speed would be a decent experience.
My DD when I'm run'n around town is my RicerRolla, at 16 yo and still gets 33.7mpg and she's a blast to drive.I recently returned from a round trip from WA state to Florida in our 2020 Limited. Approximately 6000 miles. We averaged about 18 mpg, and went through more than 330 gallons of fuel. At an average price of around $3.50 per gallon (it was cheaper on the trip there last November) we spent just under $1200 on fuel. I've read that the TRX might eek out 14 mpg highway. If I'd been driving one of those instead, I'd have gone through almost a hundred more gallons and spent another $350 on fuel. Yeah, fuel economy does matter sometimes. But for normal daily use I'm really not concerned about it, even with gas prices at historic highs.

Absolutely, now if they'd just lose the rear doors it'd be perfect! My guy, what I have been asking for, is a 6.4 in a simple, affordable truck. This toy thing is not it.
No crew cab, slammed suspension, no payload, can't tow anything.
I hear they even go faster if you turn the fake exhaust tone on!?I'll get walked in my Camaro by a bunch of jelly bean shaped EVs on the market.

Ok been doing a lot of research because I'm excited about this thing. Based on what's been said to the media - specifically that the 6.2 will come in under TRX list - and that RAM knows they need to rebuild the brand here's my thought on pricing. RAM isn't stupid, they didn't put the R&D into this thing without some market research. Any non crew cab in the current truck market is a hard sell, but having a Halo/fun vehicle running around the streets gets people into the dealer to buy Laramies and Tungstens. Here's where I think pricing will land:
Base 5.7 - 50-55 MSRP start
Base 6.4 - 62-65 MSRP start
6.4 Track Pack with options - 70-75 MSRP
SRT - 80-85 MSRP
This is based on the rest of the market. Base 5.7 compares almost spot on with the F150 Lobo, except smaller cab, so they know they need to undercut that. Right now Lobos in my area are advertised at 52-53 and going OTD for high 40s. The 6.4 is kind of in a weird spot due to the pent up demand for that motor, but I think you're going to see the base 6.4 with cloth be pretty aggressively priced and low volume. My guess the track pack 6.4 will actually be the volume seller for the Rumble Bee lineup - it has leather and all the goodies.
I'm old school, I want the cruiser "hot rod" version - give me a 5.7 with cloth seats and a good stereo. All the noise and a good time.
