True, true. I think I know what you're saying now. But if I eventually sell the truck it will probably be a pain to talk it all apart and put it all back to stock. It's only another pipe for the exhaust, so it's not a huge deal. I'll save some $$ if I just go with one 7' pipe, the xr-1 muffler, and a cutout.

Eh that'a alright..everything is gonna total over like $500 bucks all for an extra exhaust pipe lol. I would still have to buy 2 mufflers, two exhaust tips, pay for them bending the piping and pay for installation. I still gotta save up for a sound system.

I'll tell you what, I'll sleep on it. I gotta call the shop tomorrow and see how much they will charge me if I just have them bend the pipes. I just need to see what my budget is like and what I can afford to do right now.

If I go this route, it will be 179 for the piping, and 230 for both mufflers, so about 409 bucks. I'll have to see.

Do you sell Raceland cutouts? I'm just trying to add up the prices if I decide to go the route of getting the xr-1, the 7' pipe and the cutout..

The XR1 and cutout have about the same tone on a stock truck, do not waste the cash on both. Trust me on this one, I have both and the ONLY difference between them on my truck when it was just with the headers is it was slightly louder at WOT with the cutout open (with the cam its a different story). If you go with the round pipe instead of an oval, it will basically be like sticking a straight pipe in. Either do one or the other at this point.

Oh yeah I remember you telling me this. I'll just go for the xr-1 then, but before I decide on it, I will take a look under the truck tomorrow and check things out up by the y-pipe that's connected to the headers. I just want to see if the diagram Duane posted up will fit under the truck. I am mad indecisive when it comes to mods lmao..

Because the way I'm looking at it is that, if I get that piping that Duane posted up, that's 179, plus two xr-1's (115 each), so that's 230+179 = 409. I need to ask the shop how much they will charge to bend the piping and then I'll have my neighbor install the chit and probably save up a little more money and throw some tips on there. Once I call the shop I'll have it figured out.

I really like the idea of duals, I think it's badass...but I'm trying to think if that tunnel x pipe will be long enough to reach from the front to the back..from the end of the muffler to the back bumper, i measured 82 inches..if you look at the diagram, from the back pipes to the beginning of the front pipes is only 51 inches..

So, basically to sum it up:

1. Will it fit the length of the truck?
2. If so, I'll call the shop and see how much they will charge for bending it.

They have it at 51" for Single cab applications. All it takes to lengthen it is a piece of pipe....Let me know what you want to do, and I will get it on the site for you tomorrow.

I do have a regular cab though, so should this fit? I just don't want to have to run out and buy piping when in the middle of installing it. Sorry, I'm not trying to be a PITA lol, I just want to make sure everything will work out before I buy it.

Alright, I will call the shop tomorrow and see what they will want for bending the pipes. I'll post in the thread tomorrow and let you know what's going on. Chances are I will get it and the two xr-1's.

yeah dude, i would go with the two mufflers and x pipe, i think you will be the most satisfied by that. and hangars are easy man, if you go to home depot, they have steel rod in there that you can just torch and hammer bend, then make yourself some hooks and weld them in right where the factory hangars were on the passenger side and you just slide them around the frame on the drivers side, piece of cake dude. and those steel rods at home depot are like a buck 50 ($1.50) for a 3 foot section at 3/8 diameter im pretty sure.

not trying to hijack, duane, if i weld up a section of pipe, could I ship it to you for powedercoating and what kind of cost are we talking? also, is there a chroming option?

Ok let's go with the x pipe and two borlas. What I'll do is have the shop bend the piping and if they try to jerk me around on the installation price, my neighbor and I will install it. The only reason he doesn't want to install it is because the shop can guarantee me that the piping is bent correctly - he doesn't have a bender at his house so if it isn't bent right, then I would have to go back to the shop.

just one more question: what is going to happen with the catylitic converter? Is it just a simple "cut it off and weld it back on" type of thing? I know that's tied into the computer system..

If you are going dual, don't go with a 3" in/out muffler on each. Need to go with something smaller like a 2.5" in/out and smaller dia piping

you suggesting the smaller tube because of back preasure?? I was always told the smaller the tube the quieter the sound.

The smallest diameter they have for the xr-1 round shaped is 3". I think my FM is a 2.5in and a 3in out. They have the oval shaped in the 2.5 in/out, but I don't know how that will sound. I haven't heard those on a 4.7 before..

A dual 3" on your truck is going to make it run.like crap. You'll loose all your lowend. Need the 2.5" or it wont run right.

Then tags what you need to go with. 3" would be fine if it was a single in single out but with duals and.a not very worked over engine you need the smaller piping

Alright I'll see what Duane can offer me for that. Part #40941, I would assume it isn't much different in price (based off the camparison in prices on borla's site). I should still get a good sound out of that right?
