ROLL-UP INFO: FOTA 18.11.x & uC D/L 18.45.01 SW Update 13-17 RA3/Vp3-NA & Ra4 VP4-NA

I have on my radio installed V17.11.17. I've been trying for over 2 weeks now to do the OTA update. Fails every time
I took it into the Dodge dealership they want to charge me 155$ to do the update. I said ok, left the truck with them for 3 hr, it had a few recalls they were going to fix. Got back and they were having problems with downloading the update to their own USB stick and asked me to reschedule to have the radio updated. I didn't pay them the 155 as they only did recalls. My question is now. So many are having a problem why do I have to pay to have the forced update installed? I also logged onto driveuconnect and put in my VIN to download the update myself, but the website keep saying I have no new updates? I'm I stuck paying to have the update? Thanks

This works for RA3 (my original radio, using my VIN) but the VINs I have with RA4 radios are not currently showing the latest update.

Pretty sure its coming, though.

Just to let the cat out of the bag kinda, we've had the file for a couple weeks now but weren't positive it was A) finished and B) would even work, since the contents are in a slightly different structure than we're used to.

I did have an external source try the file and they said it flashed fine and the radios they used are still working as before the update so it does seem to be legit and safe.

If you want to wait a bit before installing, Im going to download the files from the official uconnect site and compare to the copies I already had, to see if any changes have been made.

If you feel comfortable giving me your VIN, send me a PM so I can grab the file off the site (my RA4 vins still arent working yet)

RA4 still not available, yet. Hopefully soon. Its funny, the population with RA3 that has nav activated is probably pretty small, but the RA4 stand to lose the built in nav until the fix is applied, you would figure they would make RA4 downloadable first!

Try 7-zip, right click, Open Archive. You'll get a warning but it should decompress (Ive had this warning with this file the whole time but it still opens OK)

Well ain't this just dandy...

Started out well (after unzipping with 7-zip) loaded on a fat32 drive and off it went.



And then somewhere around 90% complete, crash and burn.


Now it has started the update all over again. Have a feeling this will be a endless loop of fail and restart.

Got my RA3 to work! My truck is 2013 with VIN starting with 1C

Interestingly enough, my wifes 2017 Grand Cherokee with a RA4 is also showing the update. But the VIN also starts with 1C...

I have a 2017 RAM 1500 Sport (Sublime) with RA4 (8.4" w/NAV) radio. Current software version is 17.11.07. Two or three weeks ago I got the message on the radio screen about the software update. As I was reading the message, I was also in the motion of opening the driver door. I opened the door before I could process the message on the screen, and the message went away. It has never popped up again. I drive the truck almost every day. Today I checked the driveuconnect.com website, entered my VIN, and the site says my software is up to date, no update available. I called uconnect, they said my VIN showed I'm up to date, but couldn't tell me what version number was the newest. They had me do the radio soft reset (hold the volume and browse buttons together). The radio reset, but I still don't get the update message. I called the uconnect software center (877-855-8400) and they couldn't tell me why I didn't get an update message, and there is no way to force the update. They said if I have a problem with NAV after November 3, I should take the truck to my dealer for service. OK, now what do I do? I really don't want to be using the NAV and fall off the edge of the flat earth.

Checking the site again, it still looks like the RA4 update is only available to VINs starting with 3C.

The RA3 update is available, presumably, to all VINs (I know it works for 1C, I dont have any 3C to try, if they even exist)

I think its a matter of timing as "they" do whatever needs to be done to link a VIN to a file.

@steven_sbs I wouldn't do anything just yet. Keep checking the UConnect update site with your VIN to see if the update becomes available.

1C means the vehicle is built for FCA US (Fiat Chrysler of America, USA). They would both have the same first two characters.

2C = Canada, 3C = Mexico

The C means Dodge/Chrylser

I had the update option flash on the screen one time and I selected for it to install immediately. But, it didn't take. I haven't seen the option come up in the past few days. I checked the driveuconnect site this morning and it shows the attached picture saying that I am already updated. I just checked my truck and it is still on 17.43.01.

If someone is able to upload the 18.45 file to an accessible place, that would be great! Mine is a 2015 8.4 RA4 VP4-NA and my VIN starts with 1C.
