I thought this was important just like every other complaint you may have had about anything on your vehicle I guess you will be the one cussing that you can't get your jack out because of a nut in crappy weather that you can't get your tire off to replace, but what do I know and where would you store your jack once used. You tell me where to place it in the cab of the truck if you know so much.the #2 man at chrysler called you because of a wing nut ? wow must of been exciting like getting a text from tom brady
If they have the parts to do the recall by all means have it done quickly.Although it may never happen but I wouldnt want a lawyer nosing around the recall records in case you were at fault or not in an accident for whatever reason.Regardless if your "fix" is working.Am I crazy for not getting this re-call done?
When I got the notice about the drag link recall; I checked the nut and added some blue Loctite to wherever I saw threads. I've been checking it every time I change the oil. The nut is still tight and no unusual wear on the tires.
So, am I crazy for not getting this re-call done?
Nope, you are diligently checking it and it’s not loosening. Better off, the less the dealer monkeys touch your truck.Am I crazy for not getting this re-call done?

Not necessarily true. Once sticker is worn off, can’t know part date, number, etc. What about aftermarket draglinks? I believe you are overthinking the what if scenarios. That said, if they are replacing the parts versus welding, yes, I would do that.If they have the parts to do the recall by all means have it done quickly.Although it may never happen but I wouldnt want a lawyer nosing around the recall records in case you were at fault or not in an accident for whatever reason.Regardless if your "fix" is working.
It was customer service that I went to first explaining the issue and they said place the jack some where else in the truck once you have to remove it and not put it back in the same place with the wing nut. That's what got my goat, you want customer service but you get the run around. So you go to the top complain about customer service about an issue. The #2 man was very apologetic in the answer i received about the situation. This fellow did not know this was an issue at all the first he heard of it.

The nhtsa knows which trucks and which recalls have been done.So Im not saying an underneath vehicle inspection would show anything like a part number for an attorney to know. But records can be checked at nhtsa website.I do know in the trucking industry the guvmint folks have done truck brake inspections for defects at accident scenes and charged drivers that otherwise wouldnt be at fault.Although no apparent brake issues were known by the driver.I agree if there were a aftermarket part on there the recall would be a moot point in the vehicle historyNot necessarily true. Might be a dumb question but does it matter if the drag link is mounted on top or bottom at the pitman arm? I put on a synergy one a month ago and it says to mount it on top of the pitman arm which is how my stock one was mounted on my 16.View attachment 483628View attachment 483629
I ended up needing a new Drag Link after sliding into a curb and bending my OEM unit.
It had the Recall welds done to it prior to it bending.
I didn't have the time to do a Synergy Link myself so I took it to my mechanic, He had to go to the dealership for the part and this is the new unit being installed. It has a flattened section in the center that threw me off for a minute.

That's what I was beginning to think but wasn't sure. ThanksIt only mounts 1 way, from the top (it's tapered). The guy above must have a aftermarket drop pitman arm.
.
I am supposed to be getting mine soon. I was told 2 weeks, but that was 3 weeks ago. I cant believe the common fix for this is still welding and not having replacements on the shelf ready to go. IN washington state the dealers are garabage.
