My short bed regular cab has left tail broken off at muffler. I am looking to do a muffler back. But, this Sport is listed as having "Dual Exhaust with Aggressive Note". I can't find any OEM muffler part number that is different for Sport vs any other model. Is tail different? It does sound different that other models as I have many people ask if I did something.
I am not looking for louder, but want same flow. I have read that this oem system system flows as good as any other, and is good enough until you get long tube headers.
I am open to cat back such as shows on MOPAR. But it sounds great as is, and do not want any loss of flow.
Ideas?

Jim

Options are a bit limited for the regular cab short bed trucks. MBRP makes a great kit that will fit your RAM and we have it IN stock.

If you would like a quote send me a message

Thanks Nick. let's see what it is composed of. The current muffler is HUGE, round. That is probably why the sound and flow. As I also said, it is more sound than other trucks of the vintage not Sport. But, I do not want alot louder or different tone. Let's see what 'ya got.

Jim.

I had a great sounding Magnaflow on my 2009 Dodge Ram SLT Quad Cab, 5.7L HEMI
it sounded best near a wall or in a tunnel like structure

I never had the Drone that everyone talked about
It had single 3" in Dual Out, I believe it was a 27" muffler
everything else was stock

its true that they had 2 different mufflers on the 1500 hemis, one standard and one "sport tone"
in my experience all recent 4g (classic) dual factory bumper exits have the sport tone muffler and the single exit exhausts have the standard whisper quiet muffler

you can probably get a stock dual exit muffler on your local marketplace for cheap, everyone gets rid of it for a good deal when they buy an aftermarket system!

Try part number 52122529AC. This is for 2011 models with the aggressive exhaust note, but should work with 2009 models. Hope this helps.

Wait, there's 2 different stock mufflers with dual outlets?

Yes, there's a "standard" one for Big Horn and Laramie models that had dual rear exhausts (55398327AF), and a different one for Sport models that produced an "aggressive" tone with the part number in my previous post. I haven't heard how aggressive the Sport ones sound...maybe someone with them can chime in? I will say the standard ones on my Big Horn are fairly quiet.

I've got a 14 RCSB RT, a 16 Laramie and a 2024 classic. They all sounded the same to me.

I changed the 14 RT to a Carven progressive muffler and now it's louder.

The 16 and the 24 sitting side by side sound the same.

While I'm certain you are correct, I'm deaf enough from riding the harley to not notice anything
