65rfe nightmare

I just bought at ATS stage 5 545rfe for the 5.7 Hemi 1500. My second “beefed up” 545rfe lost overdrive. Still runs through all gears, just slips when trying to pass at 50/60mph.

Was the last one from ATS as well? I’m looking to hopefully get this done for as little as possible then I’m trading this truck in.

The last one was a stock rebuilt 545rfe that was suppose to be beefed up for Preformance. Anyway, after the fact, I threw in some upgrades when I did the cam and lifter swap. She held up for about 8 months and then lost the overdrive clutches. This new stage 5 ATS is rated for 850HP. Will see how it goes.

There is a reason the ones that seek performance swap out for the 8hp.......many rfe's have failed.
Similar to the cam/lifter failure.

If you're trading in I'd just find a used unit from a wrecker or something and call it a day

Will do sir. Waiting for it to ship now. All Billet internals, should do well. If I could have found a shop to swap in an 8 speed around here, I would have went that route. No luck whatsoever though. Even transmission shops didn’t want to “marry” my truck lol
Forgot to mention, the copilot controller as well, should be interesting.
