I've followed getupkid and I've probably read nearly all his post ? ?

Is he kicked out of here for making the harnesses here as well ?

If I was to stab at it with a guess, it was because he was selling without being a vendor and already warned prior.

Getupkid mentioned being banned on another forum for selling the conversion harnesses and not becoming a vendor. He also mentioned being warned for the same thing here but was selling a handful of harnesses just a few weeks ago.

Question for anyone who has done the map update, didnt it originally ask you for the request code and vin #? Was gonna purchase one for one of my radios, and it did not ask for it at all through the prompts to order it...

I think they lessened the restrictions on the update due to software issues recognizing the update as valid and/or authorized.

Nav-Repair can do the update for $74 vs the 150 from mopar. seems like a no brainer.

Yes it asked me for the request code and the vin#. I wasn't sure if I should use my Vin# or the Donar Vin#. I ended up using my Vin# and it all loaded fine. I am glad to hear they seem to be making it easier.

I talked to a buddy at mopar and I guess since they had a lot of issues with the request code not showing that they just opened it up and put some sort of software fail safe that will only allow it once loaded fully to be installed on 2 radios.

Which might explain NAV repair's ability to do this and pricing. That's a comfortable profit margin.

They use a different setup. There is an unlimited master key that can purchase for X amount (over $2K) that grants unlimited map updates for any Chrysler vehicle for dealers only such as them.

He said he wasn't 100 percent sure on the amount of times you could use each flash drive. They never published how many times you could so I would take it with a grain of salt.

So while talking to Rick yesterday, I came up with a idea that I believe will be well received. The backup camera is only good if you need to backup to a trailer, but what about once the trailer is attached and you need to see behind it? The idea is to utilize the cargo cam input on the radio, and simply run a harness to the tailgate area. When you attach a trailer simply plug in 1 more plug for the video signal. You could mount the camera to the trailer with magnets or permanently whatever you would like.
