FYI...your radio will be connected to uconnect even with the 911 dummy/error plug. The dummy plug actually functions as any antenna would, just much shorter.

Magnus has hinted that they are capable of a completely custom 8.4 firmware/software, but haven't due to legal restrictions. There software mods are done using complete root access to the radio.

Maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel for Voice text response.

Just a FYI, we will have a preorder on our website in the next 30 minutes or so for our Fog lights with high beam kit. completely 100% plug and play with OEM connectors. We did the math and tested it and found you dont necessarily need a relay to run the fog lights, as the high beam power feed has enough current to support both at the same time. We will have a select-able option to wire it to run off a relay if you prefer. Right now we are doing 1 run of these to see how they preform sales wise so once theyre gone, theyre gone for now. Thanks! Sorry for the wait RLK on these!

All that needs to be done is to either remove the verification code from the software that checks for a subscription or some sort of hardware that spoofs the system by sending it a subscription confirmation...

I honestly believe that Navrepair and Customtronix may have the ability to do this, but cannot put it out there because of legal issues with FCA.
Agreed. They should be able to do it.

I wonder if Customtronix gets a few emails asking about it if they will add it to their software hack. I want the hack at some point so that I can have Nav access while driving and the extra front and cargo camera inputs.

Edit: They have a few more RAx jailbreak options now

@ Mpgrimm2, Sir when you get up and running with your 2014 RA4 8.4 AN Please let me know if you can respond to text via voice ! As opposed to being restricted to predetermined text response.
Will do. Still don't know why the pre-defined text responses don't work on your RA2 like they do on mine with the same software.

LOL ....Fragile ...... It's a Major AWARD !

They worked on my RA2 as well even coming from an RA1 and using the iPhone? Weird that is free even though only canned responses but you have to rent the software to use it on RA3 and RA4 radios.

My predifined text responses work on my RA2 , I just do not know how to obtain the list ?LOL

I wish I could just speak my own response and not be restricted to the predefined text response.

Correct me if I'm wrong ,but I'm under the impression that the RA4 s text response is NOT restricted to "canned, predefined " text responses ?

When you say "mine works" do you mean you are Not restricted to predefined / canned text responses ?

You can speak whatever you want as a voice response to an incoming text when prompted ?

Mine "pre-defined" messages work sometimes with the RA2. I usually get the woman to reply back "sorry I couldn't understand that". Dam female.

Thank you Sir . That's what I'm wanting .
The fact so many seem to not have it , is the only reason I haven't pulled the trigger on this upgrade!

Mike where is your lead for pin 17?

I will pop it in once I lay it out in the truck (soldered to the extra blower harness pin already). May fish it through the sleeving. Just not sure of how much can follow the conversion harness yet.

Personally, I would love for Chrysler to just make the radios with some flavor of Android OS on them.

Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk

QNX has pretty much taken over the in-dash entertainment system market as far as OS goes. Ford, GM and FCA have all gone QNX. Nissan, Mercedes, Honda, Audi, VW, Toyota, Hyundai and more offer QNX based infotainment systems.

Ford proposed manufacturers form a standard QNX interface so that app developers could design apps that would work on all systems, but only Nissan signed on. Right now, no one wants to write apps, because they would have to write a different app for every manufacturer.

QNX has both Android Auto and Apple Carplay capability, if the manufacturer licenses and implements it.
