I believe getupkid tried a 2016 radio but ended up sending it back because it didn't work right. I'm not sure if it was the same problems you are having but either way it never worked right.

I'm fairly sure that was a 2015 radio he tried. It would be nice if someone knew his email for a verification since he isn't on the site any more.

Sent an email off to NavRepair to see if I'm missing something. May not hear back until Monday or later with the holiday.

2 problems with this 2016 RA4...
- Can't turn the volume up from (0). None of the volume up/down controls work at all.
- Doesn't detect key in "run" position to allow any changes under "settings" menu.

Factory reset doesn't help.
No change between MTC vs ATC bezels.
Using phone pairing to mute/unmute a call doesn't help.

I suspect it is either not compatible with the 2013-2015 trucks or it has the wrong firmware due to being in a Chrysler 200c. (Can't download any 2016 firmware from uConnect with any valid 2016 VIN because it says radio is up to date).

Thanks. Looks like the others who said so were correct. Not sure how he got his hands on one so early.

Alright, so after having the 2016 8.4an installed for a little over a week, I have had 2 issues. The first is about 10 percent of the time the menu items at the bottom don't show up. The second item is about 12 hours after installation I started the truck and no radio volume. If I scroll the volume knob or use the volume buttons on the steering wheel, the volume level shows up on the screen but is stuck at 0. This issue remains until I disconnect the positive from the battery and touch the negative to reset the system, then again after about 12 hours, same issue.

I reached out to Sean at Schram and he said that if I took it to the dealership and had the sales code flashed that everything will work. I brought it in to the dealership today and they had no idea how to add sales codes. I called another dealer and they wanted $180. For me it's not worth the money with the potential that it won't fix the issues. If anyone wants to buy this radio from me for $500, let me know and I'll ship it out tomorrow. Otherwise I will be returning it tomorrow to Schram.

According to getupkid's earlier post on his 2016, it appears that the RA4 sales code would need to be added.
Perhaps CuylerTech can also comment since he was one of the few to successfully get the codes flashed. Not sure what radio year he put in his truck.

Like getupkid, I doubt I will be asking the dealer for help getting the RA4 codes flashed for multiple rounds of $$. My 2013 truck may not support the needed codes anyway beyond the basic RA4.

My truck originally had an RA2. I had the RA4 code flashed in by my friend the last time it was in for recalls. I doupt it would cure any of of your issues. It realy doesn't change much. It's mostly for your trucks menu settings for lights,horn ect. I would send that radio back and get a different year. It's not work the hassel.

Well the compass worked LOL at least you know your compass issue with the 5.0 shouldn't be an issue once you get a diff year radio ... ( the glass is 1/2 full )

Did I miss something when I looked at the pictures of Mike,s post the compass heading was not shown on his radio? It does not show the outside temp either.

Well if it was the heading would be displayed in the NAV soft key and on the top banner where the time is, also missing is the outside temp.

Mike the getupkid can be reached on the other forum, I emailed him awhile back. If I were you I would send it back.

Actually got a few back & forth emails from NavRepair. Seeing what I can work out with them or the seller I bought it from. Will know more by Monday, but one way or another I won't be using this 2016 RA4.

PS: compass & temp did show up... as long as the module was sending the signal (which was still intermittently)
