Looks like Richard Campbell can remove the E-torque and replace it with a normal alternator,price includes parts/labour and a tune .

You can make it all back sell the unit to some poor sumbeach who's truck has been at the dealer for 4 months waiting for one? Supply and demand.

I can usually see the opening page on FB links, but not with these links.

For the non-FB users;

Are those Canadastan $ quoted for the E-junk removal?

I was thinking the same thing Mike,:waytogo:. When you factor in the tune alone is probably 1500,and if you can sell your old MGU unit for 2,000,now we're down to about 5,000 in parts and labour,cheap at twice the price :waytogo: :Big Laugh::Big Laugh:
Makes me wonder if there's a differant timing cover and intake manifold,to convert back to the non E-torque style 5.7

People keep buying this junk they'll keep making it. There's a reason I still drive a 2012 ;) .

And I had to pay the 8 speed swap tax :dogpile: the POS front diff to gen 3 swap tax , the MDS delete tax.

These new trucks have so much junk on them it's literally cheaper to just keep your old one.

Its too bad that they force etorque down your throat if you choose the hemi.

My God, ain't that the truth!! I would honestly consider a new loaded-up Longhorn (or Limited) with a Hemi (6.4L preferably), but it can't have eTorque. I might actually test drive the 6 cyl Hurricane though. It's either that, or I shop for a low miles used truck.

I think realistically, if I had to replace my truck now then itd probably be a 2500 gasser. No torque junk, no mds and you get the nice 8spd zf. The only thing is it will run you north of 65k for a tradesman 2500.

I'm pretty sure they still have MDS on the 6.4 2500's

That seems like a fool and his money territory to me. If I'm in deep enough to spend $8500, I'm sure AF not sticking with a 5.7L.

If you're sticking a 6.4 in a e-torque truck,you still have to contend with removing it ,just replacing the engine,doesn't delete the e-torque system.
