Also I just remembered I've used plenty of flex fuel E51 or better with both sensors. No problems on the new one.

Excellent way of getting moisture out of the gas tank when I run a few tanks of Flex.
Of course I load my custom tune for it to take advantage of the extra octane.

My dad has a Nissan van that is really big tall wise, it’s a 2015 and has around 200K or so on it. I don’t know how he’s racked up so many miles on a company vehicle.

We were saying by having a company vehicle that we save the miles on our personal vehicles. But in my career, i've wore out several Chevy 2500 in my day. One being an 05 company bought with 44,000. I parked it in the back field with 310,000. NEVER had an engine or tranny.

My CEL came on Friday with a half tank gas. I stopped by my mechanic and he pulled the code. After research over the weekend on here, it’s definitely the fuel level sensor. He told me it’s best to replace the whole pump as the level sensor is part of the pump assembly and the labor is what’s expensive (do them both now vs drop tank again if pump fails later). They have to drop the gas tank for access. Total labor and pump / level sensor part = $700. Common in years 2014 - 2016. Purchased brand new, I have 2014 with 69,000 miles.

Well, I don't want to jinx myself (probably just did) but CEL went off, and gauge is working. I'll wait til it takes another dump....before I shell out 700$ Damn, you'd think this thing was a BMW with these prices....

I paid my local shop $360 for the fuel pump (Factory Mopar one), and they only charged me $130 for labor, Took about 2 hours, and mostly cause i had to wait for the pump to be delivered same morning.
Dealer wanted $1200 :)
My sensor only lasted 2 months before the time it started throwing the P0463 until the time it died.

I was starting to get worried reading this, but then saw this is particular to the 2014-2016 year models. I have a 2011 Sport with 128,000 on the clock and never had this issue. Only issue with the truck at all was a lifter failure at about 93,000 miles. I agreed to a 10% co-pay and shelled out about $300.00 bucks.

On a side note, the remote start is disabled when you are low on gas...they don't want you to run out while the car is warming up.

Sorry to hear this problem, I and just passing 40k on mine.

Hello all. So, last night I started my truck, got a "ding" CEL stayed on, and a message "fuel sensor fail". Gauge went to empty (I had about 3/4 tank). I restarted a couple times, and gauge registered again, but CEL stays on.

I got gas this morning, and gauge went to full - so it sees to be working. As a side effect, the CEL is still on, and seems to have partially disabled Remote Start. Truck will remote start, but will shut back of after about 10 seconds, with the message on the dash - "remote start disabled", start truck to reset.

I'm sure it's the CEL that's doing it. Before I go to Pep Boys and have them read the code, anyone experienced this?
Seafoam it. Try 10 gals of hi octane fuel and a full bottle of seafoam in the fuel tank. I seafoam my tank 4 times a year. 2016 hemi runs like new...

Dang, this actually makes sense.

I have a theory, i'm thinking when the CEL first come out, people did like my dad and put a piece of tape on it. Or ignored it, so when manufacturers caught on to this, they started doing other things when CEL comes on. Disabling things, like Cruise control, ( thanks Subaru)

Or, light up the dash like a xmas tree, tcs light check engine, and power steering light, ( Thanks Honda )

I have a 2017 with 47,500 on it and it just started today as I came back to work from lunch.

Some have mentioned swapping the whole pump (including the sensor) and some have mentioned swapping just the sensor.

I've dropped tanks on other vehicles before (namely Jeeps), so I'm not opposed to doing this with an empty 26g tank.

Do we have part numbers readily available for the 2017 for both the whole pump assembly and just the sensor portion? With this just starting, I know I'll be okay for a bit, but I want to be prepared for when it finally dies.

I hate things not working as expected.
