In many cases ...
Our Tariffs MATCH the Tariffs put on the USA by those countries.

When they lower their Tariffs, we may lower OURs

Mexico does not let our Semi Truck Drivers into Mexico, but their Drivers have to be allowed into the USA.
We can not send OUR Dairy Products into Mexico
But we have to let their Dairy Products into the USA,
( unless we put a temporary BAN on particular items, like Mexican EGGs are currently Banned, because of the BIRD FLU )

The U.S. has generally banned the import of fresh or raw eggs because of concern over avian influenza, according to CBP. Travelers are also prohibited from bringing live birds or raw poultry across the U.S. border. 1 day ago

This tariff war started WWII.

It will directly add 25% price to Ram Heavy Duty, which is damn near unaffordable now.
What do you think will happen? Global economic depression and world War. Just like 1930s.
Nothing we can do about anymore but prepare. Which is why I stocked and an milking my pampered and upgraded Ram.

I think it's a better bet than buying new asap and risking failures without parts available. Neither do I have a quarter million miles on it.
We all got to be smart about our own status.

I should add, that I've had the same experience with the AGM battery on the generator and finished with that cycle. It lasted longer than 2 years but not more than 3 or 4 years.

I just use the pull start feature but, in the back of my mind, I'm still thinking about installing a new AGM battery with Anderson connectors.

Then I could keep the battery inside, installing it quickly and easily when I require to generate.

I wonder if you could install Anderson connectors on your batteries, keeping them inside and protected from the sub-zeros.

I just had an epiphany.

I can use my new DC clamp meter to measure the starting current on the generator, then I will know if the Anderson crimper and connectors I have are sufficient for the task.

.
I don't know if I could use the Anderson connectors. The battery on my ATV is mounted on a 45 degree angle under a panel that's under the seat.

No pull start on this machine (750 twin).

I can't remember what brand is in it now, but I'm sure there's been at least two different brands in the last four replacements.

"This tariff war started WWII."
Actually, if you're referring to Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor which caused the U.S. entry into WWII, president Roosevelt did not use a tariff. As a response to Japan's invasion of China, by Executive Order he prohibited the sale of U.S. scrap iron to Japan, then later prohibited all petroleum & coal sales, and then froze all Japanese financial assets in the U.S.

I have the 15/30/45 Amp set that all use the same housing size, see attached.

The connectors are well insulated and designed for this purpose. If you have the clearance to accommodate them either with the battery or remotely, in the immediate vicinity.

The connector housing is less than 1/3" square while mated pair is 1.62" in length when connected.

I have no idea if the starter current is less than 45 Amps. The next size up is considerably larger.

The PP75 Amp connectors are .62" square with the mated pair 3.2" in length.

NasCar vehicle Batteries are placed just forward of the
Drivers side Rear Tire.
Mostly because that position is close to the Pit Stall Wall, away from the flow of traffic. Also the Batteries Weight is on the Left Side of the race car, where it does the most good.

It only takes seconds to change out a Battery

Must be fancy connections :)

Where is the best location to attach ring connectors for Nocco Genius 2 on board charger?

I upgraded to the H8 a few months ago. No issues at all. Pop the plastic stop out of the battery box and it fits perfectly. Even though the battery is physically bigger I was still able to use the stock battery insulation. It's tight but does stretch over the bigger battery
I ended up having to buy a new blanket for my H8. As I tried stretching my original over my new battery, it kept trying to tear the more I tried slipping over the new battery. It’s cool, a new one on Amazon only set me back like 17 bucks.

You all convinced me to upgrade to the H8 as this truck seems to drain batteries more than any other vehicle I have owned. Added the Nocco 2D on board charger but have not hooked up the power yet. Would like opinions on the hookup below. Look proper and safe? Hot lead to positive post, negative to chassis ground. Plug to back end with 25' heavy duty extension cord, heat shrink connections and weather proof port. Charger secured with 3M Velcro Dual Lock.

Should I replace my current battery with a H8....why.
75,000 miles, has the original OEM battery.
It’s starting to drag a bit when starting.

Thanks to this forum, I upgraded mine to H8 just before winter and have more peace of mind.

Read this and other battery threads and go with what you feel is worth spending your hard earned cash on.

That's too funny, I mounted a NOCO in almost the same location! I didn't do the plug, it's garaged so just pop the hood.

So question on battery life expectancy...how long does the OE battery go before they typically see issues?

This 2019 has 39k miles and has the original battery. Planning a cross country trip at some point this year, should i just replace out of caution?

The factory battery in my 2018 barely made it over 3 years and 36,000 miles before it died and I never ever had a problem at all with it from brand new.
