On my 2018 with factory 8.4 UAS (now UAQ v19.9.x ) & mics in headliner right above me, I sometimes have to say 'hey Google' very loudly with my head tilted up to get a response.

Most of the time a normal voice works well and others it doesn't work at all and I have to double press the VR Button on the wheel.

Does anyone know if the 2019 Media Hub works with the 4c UAS? Just upgraded my 2016 1500 to the UAS and the 2018 media hub I ordered is delayed a couple of weeks. I see a 2019 media hub part no. P68397098AD That I could get shipped in only a couple days, but not sure if anyone has tested it yet? I plan on using the harness from kaodtech and I’m ok with fabricating some ABS to mount it. Just want to make sure it will plug in and actually work?
Unknown and haven't had a chance to dig in on the 5th gen prints yet.

How about this for the 18 ram hub ...

I ended up ordering the 2019 hub. If it works I’ll report back. If not I’ll purchase the 2018 from the listing you provided.

Since you have factory ATC & 8.4 already you should only need...

- 2018 Ram Radio
- 2018 USB hub
- UAx USB Hub Adapter harness (from us)

M² Mods.

Hey just order an adapter from you guys.

For the media hub, I ordered part #5XG28DX9AD which I believe is from a compass, the one that will leave small gaps on the side when installed. I didn't realize a 2018 ram hub will work...isn't it too wide for the slot in my 2014?

Having some issues upon installing a 2018 UAQ in my 2014. Guessing this could be due to it being a Canadian truck and the radio is for a US vehicle? I only had 4 wires on the back of my original 2014 8.4: white, grey, yellow, and the main harness.

- No sound, either with radio, phone Bluetooth, or CarPlay (which loaded up fine)
- no satellite radio option
- I installed the infotainment kit for the heated/cooled seats and heated steering wheel....seats function fine but heated steering wheel won’t turn on
- built in GPS won’t locate

Am I hooped? Do I need a Canadian radio?

Here’s the back of my original 2014 8.4 radio

*something interesting - I pushed the SOS app and sound came through dash speakers saying it’s not available.

Also don't seem to have the "controls" icon for heated/cooled seats and wheel, although the hard buttons on the console work and display a message on the screen when turned on/off.

no back up cam either

From Customtronix' documentation for the Enigma....

Code:
Panasonic made Uconnect with 8.4-inch monitor:
This model picks up new settings on every
boot, and usually needs at least three reboots to pick up everything it needs.

Putting this model to sleep takes a lot of time, and we recommend turning the ignition off, locking and leaving the vehicle alone for at least 45 minutes to give it time to enter sleep mode. Pulling the battery to cut the car's power supply is not putting the Uconnect to sleep the way we need it to, so please be patient. On the third boot, everything should be available in the menu for you to use.

Note: once backup camera and sxm button show up, it should have finished reading the settings from the BCM

Thanks for the info. I’ll give the lock and wait to sleep cycle a try.

first reset got XM, backup cam, and seat control icons. Built in NAV still won’t pick up a signal - hoping it will on overnight sleep.

I have a UAQ radio that I purchased from a salvage yard last February that I will be putting up for sale. The Navigation does not get past the boot screen. The clock has to be manually set as it doesn’t automatically receive it from the GPS satellites. Everything else works as it should including CarPlay and Sirius. I’ll get some pictures and post a classified add soon asking $350 shipped Priority Mail.

It sounds like no GPS signal. One thing you might want to check is the tiny little pin in the center of the GPS connector on the back of the radio. It is small so you may need a magnifying glass. I had one from a salvage vehicle and somehow they bent the pin for the cellular modem so it shorted to side of the connector so the radio would always show "take to the dealer for repair" upon start up. The connector went on fine and everything just the error on start up. I carefully straightened the pin with a tiny screwdriver and it works fine now.

Hello I have a 2017 Canadian Ram 8.4 with factory NAV and would like Android Auto and Carplay. In page #1 Cuylertech post mentions a 2017 can be converted into a 2018 radio. Where can I find information on how the conversion is achieved?

Tks

so update on the install, truck slept overnight and this morning the onboard GPS connected and everything appears to be working. XM is active, must be a free trial or something because I didn't have a subscription on my old radio.

I should have my Enigma Jailbreak Retroactive from Custimtronix today for my 14. I'm curious to see what it does with my UAQ. I had the Infotainment unit to make the heated seats and wheel show up but that's all it does. I was missing the mirror dim soft key plus still had corruption issues with displaying radio stations and navigation prompts between the radio and the speedometer. I am hoping it fixes all this as advertised. I will probably stick with my RA4 either way because I just prefer it over the UAQ but I wanted to try it again with the Enigma. According to there website it's also supposed to make the radio read the BCM almost instantly which will be interesting to see since it normally takes the UAQ/UAS radio a while to read the BCM in all trucks not just the ones that have been updated.

Update on the 2019 USB Media Hub.

It appears to work fine. I still don't have my conversation harness yet so I wasn't able to plug it in and make it look nice. However I was able to rig up a temporary harness and test it. CarPlay works on the left USB ports (both A and C). IMG_2308.JPGIMG_5527.JPGIMG_8589.JPGIMG_9828.JPG
