How To: Install a 2018 4C (UAQ/UAS) Radio in 2013 - 2017 RAM

Still trying to see if there are any settings I can change in the BCM that will not cause any ill side effects to enable different theme options on my 18' Ram UAQ. I tried changing several special package options & setting both the same with no luck.

I am reading through threads looking for some information. See you have been investigating your UAQ. I have a 3018 Tradesman with rear view camera in the mirror. I installed a UAS out of a 2019 and the one thing I am trying to figure out is if the camera view can be displayed both on the mirror and on the radio. If this is not something you ran into, no worries and sorry to bother you. Thanks for reading.

Been working on getting a 2018 UAx installed on my 2018 Ram 2500 Tradesman. I found a UAQ 4C nav from a 2018 ram 1500 on car-parts.com. Got it in today and did a temp install ( I don't have volume controls on steering wheel)I have a RA2(Uconnect 3 w/5" screen)currently installed. When I put in the UAQ it came up fine and needed the unlock code. Got that squared away and went on to check the functionality of everything. I immediately got all the fucntions like Sirius radio preview page, nav screen that showed my current location, and plugged in my android phone and had android auto. I forgot to check the backup camera before I took it though. I went thru several other pages and it seemed to working fine. I have the HVAC module and resistor that will be here soon. I contacted Mpgrim2 a couple days ago and got put on the list for the wiring harness adapter. I am getting the adapter harness with the ATC, so I will post back here when I get it and let you all know how it works out.

I also have a 2018 2500 Tradesman with camera display in mirror. I installed a 2019 UAS in my truck and when in reverse I have the blue screen. Did you have to install a camera or if you already had it, how did you connect to radio? I am trying to display in both mirror and screen. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Don't know if he can get it to display in both locations but @Mpgrimm2 made me a harness for my 2018 and the camera now shows in my added UAQ radio. I had to use the older style mirror with microphones and no display as my truck had no microphones in the headliner from the factory. His harnesses are the best!

No worries man I have not ran into that so I'm sorry I'm not any help. My camera was showing up factory on my radio

My Tradesman came with the 5 inch screen, so I didn't have the backup camera in the mirror, it was on the display already. I did add the RCA adapter that I got from mpgrimm2 and hooked up a camera in the front and I can switch back and forth between them but not at the same time.

I bet it's doable. Personally I'd just add another camera angle. I've toyed with getting a backup camera mirror to see if I can get it to display two different cameras in reverse.

It should be possible, my buddies'14 has the cargo cam and when he's in reverse the mirror shows the back up cam, the 8.4 radio shows the cargo cam. It came this way from the factory.

When you put the truck in reverse, does the mirror show the rear view, and the radio screen show a blue screen? If so, just tap the three camera wires that go to the mirror, and pin them in 31,32,&33 on the big radio connector. That way you’ll have the backup camera image in the mirror and radio screen simultaneously.

Check eBay, your local Craigslist, and Facebook Marketplace.

The best place to find them is Car-Parts.com. This will give you a listing from salvage yards that have wrecked Rams. Radios often survive most accidents so long as their was not fire or flood and I'd bet this is where Infotainment gets their "refurbished" radios from.

That is exactly where they get them from. When the whole upgrade thing to RA3 / RA4 started, you couldn't find one at a salvage yard as Infotainment was buying them all up. They had folks checking the listings several times per day and snatching them up as soon as the were listed. I tried to get an RA4 during that time and 5 times different yards told me "Sold it to that company in Florida yesterday." Same thing happened with the UxQ's.

Got mine on Ebay fairly cheap. Only thing I had to do was get the new media hub, harness and HVAC control module.

You can buy them direct from chrysler for 1200.00 new.but 9 out of ten times they are on back order.and if you get a used on from a pick a part most of them will need a new screen.the ua radios scratch extremely easy.a screen that is not a demo is between 200-300.00.and around 100.00 for a demo
