I bought the same fan from amazon and have no vibration. The 180 thermostat just allows more timing. Truck will run fine either way. I don't have the trinity so can't help you there

good to hear, I hope I get none. What is the part # on the thermostat? Might as well do it. I think I read people just picking it up at local part stores correct? Also how can I tell what coolant is in my truck? I bought the truck used...

Couple questions...Found this thread while searching for a tutorial on this install...

I ordered the TYC 622320 from Amazon for $90. I have read about the vibrations from some and am curious if that happens to 100% of everyone who install this brand or just some. Also has anyone had success with using rubber bushings or something else to eliminate the vibrations?

Also should I just order the 180 thermostat as recommended in the first post? I have the Diablo Trinity tuner and so far in looking around in the menu I have not seen where to adjust fan settings.

I bought on Amazon and notice vibration when idling at stop light. I did not swap my thermostat and so far stays consistent at 195-197. I did program it using my hypertech tuner to 195 so that might have made a difference.

I have the Dorman on the way but not sure when it will arrive as first one was damaged in shipping and broke tabs off the sides.

Well Amazon Prime is so good I will install it and see how it does. If it vibrates I'll just return it, maybe try another or the Doorman.

I was reading a Dodge talk thread and one guy said Autozone has the 180 thermostats. Some preferred spending more on other brands like Jet or Mishimoto but several said no reason since the generic works fine. Should I get the generic or wait to install and order a Jet or another?

Also to combat vibration possibility I will install some little rubber bushings.

Agreed Amazon prime makes it easy. I am using the TYC for now but will swap when other one arrives. They extended my return date. I would try it before you even swap the thermostat you probably don't need it.

Yea I think you may be right in trying the fan first since I have it in my garage already, something to do in the morning :) My temp gauge always hovers a couple needle widths below half and always stays there, of course I havnt had the truck but two months so we will see how summer does. In Oregon we do get some hot days, usually a month and half around 87-96 degrees. But overall generally cool compared to some places.

I imagine the many who run 180 thermostats don't have issues and I assume some have done it for years. Does anyone lose gas mileage going to 180? I read people still hover around 195 temp so nothing to worry about in engine life, durability, stuff like that it seems.

Just have a question. I have not looked yet but does anyone know if you can get the stock clutch fan out without removing the shroud? Wondering if I could do this tonight or whether I should wait till the weekend. Also do the 2016 still need the shroud once clutch fan is gone?
I pulled mine out without moving anything. Except for folding over the top radiator hose.

So I'm a little confused, will the fan work without a tuner, just comes on at 225, instead of 195, like you can change with the tuner?

Is there an advantage to the factory fan over the TYC?

In my opinion it is a close call I don't like the vibration with the TYC. Others say they don't have it so then I can see it as an advantage. To put on the TYC you are taking off a smaller electric fan and clutch fan and putting on one big electric fan. Great when accelerating from a stop no annoying roar.

Sweet Thanks Guys. Guess if I don't have the tuner yet, and its starts to get hot, I can just turn on MAX A/C. The Factory fan is only $62 more than the TYC, but its not Prime.......Guess I can wait

I thought it came on sooner than that, still getting a handle on many specs about these trucks...Maybe I should get a thermostat.

It seems 180 is the most common, does anyone get decreased mileage from a 180? Anyone run a 190?

What is the stock stat?

I am installing the TYC tonight and will let you know if it vibrates. I won't keep it if it does. I might try another to see if I get lucky or get a better quality model.

Yea I'm a Prime Junkie

That's really why I took a chance because I know I can hook it up and try it out and still return it. I am going to use some rubber bushings at the mounting points to prevent any possible vibrations....Or maybe I shouldn't as I want to know if it is badly balanced...

Hopefully it's a one off case for him. But Amazon does free returns!

I got a 180 from Moe's. However knowing now that the 180 I got actually opens at 185 from what the truck says 186 by the thermometer I put in the rad. I am thinking I should have got the 170.
