Limey here is the one piece you need from Home Depot, you would need two, one for each side. I know you know that but just clarifying. It is a 2" to 1&1/2" rubber coupling. At the top of the 2" portion take a Dremel or cut off tool to cut off the top 1&1/2" reducer. At this point the only thing left is the 2" piece. I then took the dust cover from the Spyders and pushed it up through the bottom. As I have the opt7 with the fan, I used the holes on the top and opened them some more so the wire would fit through. I then put some sealant around the opening and around where the old dust cover came up to make it water and dust tight. You have to cut the top 1&1/2" off entirely or the headlights will not fit back all the way into place.

You have to do all that for the OPT7? Or are we on different lights now? I got lost in the pages.

Again, will the OPT7 bulbs and all that fit in the stock location with stock covers and all that stuff?

Edit: I read through stuff again, and it appears it should all b good.

develand - From what I gather, they are doing the extra stuff for the projector style lights. If you have the quad lights, like me, everything should fit just fine. At least, that's what I got out of it.

You are correct. If you have the quads the opt7's will fit, with everything, under the factory dust cap. Sorry I haven't gotten to respond quicker I've been dealing with medical issues.

And is the beam pattern on the low with the quad is good ?
Far more so than the halogens. You will need to be aim your headlights way down in order to not blind oncoming drivers. In my opinion, it maximizes the output of the reflector.

For the cutoff beam is it like hid or better ? For now my hid cutoff beam look almost like halogen one and they are not blinding anyone, but I needed to drop them alot.

Do you mean like how projectors have a clean edge to the beam (not fuzzy)?

I just ordered mine for my 2012. As soon as I get them installed, I will upload pics from outside and from driving perspective.

Any concerns with the fan built into the heat sink? How hot do those heat sinks get?

Just ordered them for my truck. Should work great with the tinted lights.
