I used the file hosted on media fire without a problem less than 8 hrs ago. I don’t even bother with the uconnect website there’s either no update available or it’s older than what I’m already running.

For the uconnect download, after the download go to RarLab, on the left side download rar use it to unzip the uconnect download then load the file to a USB. Follow the uconnect instructions. It it GTG

Flash- this just in from Uconnect. The 18.45 update that is download (able) from the drive.uconnect website - DOES NOT WORK. The nice lady told me that "Management says they are working on a fix but none is avail yet". She said several people called yesterday to say (like I was telling her) "the website download is doing nothing, no screen, no words, no nothing". So here's the latest. The 18.45 upgrade that is on their website -DOESN"T WORK.

I downloaded mine with no issues yesterday from the Uconnect website.

Downloaded my RA4 from also from Uconnect with no install problems and functions as designed.

A request - for anyone that has installed the update and has navigation (either an RA4 or an RA3 with nav activated), can you try using the nav and report back the accuracy of it?

I did the MPGRIMM downloaded update, 2017 Ram 1500 Laramie 4wd SB with Ra4 Nav, and all went smoothly.

Navigation, as well as everything else so far, has worked perfectly.

I may have missed this, but I got the OTA update early on, and everything worked flawlessly. BUT, I'm on 18.43.01 still, and the uconnect software update site shows (with no available firmware to download):

"YOUR VEHICLE IS UP TO DATE
There are no updates available at this time for your 2015 equipped with this system."

How are people on 18.45.X?

My 2017 Sport uconnect 8.4 just updated automatically ! Only reason I even knew was my clock was wrong and I restarted the truck and then it said your update is complete. Now says it’s version 17.51.21 I don’t seem to have any issues should I be worried ?

Most of the updates I have seen for 2017’s have been 18.45. I would check the uconnect web site for conformation that you don’t have additional update.

I wonder why if it updated this morning it didn’t update to the newest one ? Seems to be working fine do I actually need to update again ?

Software 17.11.37 updated to 18.45.01

Updated via Uconnect download, with these observations:

• Rec’d OTA notices on radio screen, but nothing after that.
• Downloaded from Uconnect (software showed up a couple days ago).
• Issue with Unzipping files - the download was 1.09GB. For some reason, the files would not extract no matter what method I tried. Downloaded again and same issue. Tried a 3rd time and the file size was then 1.27GB. File Unzip/extraction was no problem.
• Update then failed once about halfway through head unit update. Reinserted USB and update completed successfully.
• No issues found. For those with rear view mirror back up camera and cargo view in radio, no issues (like was observed with previous update)

When it failed, did you need to start over completely or just pull and re-insert the USB?

When mine failed (at about 90%) the screen prompted me to start over. It was smart enough to know it failed and initiated the sequence again. It had me remove the USB and re-insert

Thanks for the info.

The package downloadable from the UConnect site has changed BUT the actual update contained within is still the same, confirmed by comparing the file hashes.

The downloadable zip now opens cleanly using Windows Compressed Folders, instead of having to decompress with a real Zip software package.

My guess is the file was always 1.2GB but some header contained in it was reporting the incorrect file size, which is why it failed when Windows itself tried to read it. Zip apps are able to cope with errors that Windows is too dumb to

Rt71668, I have seen several posts that stated that there software was out of date and had to be updated to enable the new software to be installed. Someone else will chime in before long.

Go to uconnect and enter your vin, it will tell you if you need an additional update. If so, follow the instructions.

Chris....if I remember correctly you too have a transplanted RA4 in your Ram? I have a 2017 Ram 2500 that had an RA3 from the factory. I installed an RA4 into it. The RA4 I obtained came out of a 2017 Ram (part# 68270661AF). It currenly has SW version 16.51.19.

My question is: DO I NEED TO UPDATE TO SW 17.43 FIRST BEFORE UPDATING TO 18.45?

I read MGrimm's post #3 on the first page and if I understand the post (and the chart in it) correctly, I do NOT need to update to 17.43 first. But I am not 100% sure since there is so much info contained in the several threads on the forum and I am looking for guidance. You and Grimm seam to be the ACE'S on this. Any input of course is welcomed!
