Not to slide of topic fully. Redline 5w30 is a top choice for the Hemi, what is or are the top for the Pentastar 3.6 crowd? I ask cause I have a '15 200, as does my dad. Have a Baxter cartridge spin on adapter on each with Royal Purple 20-500 filters, and currently have PUP 5W-20 in each. Do the 3.6 crowd run 5w-30 or -20? And Lubegard at all? Or other brand/weight?
From -38 winter to +43 summer (extreme temps of places I’ve been), PUP 5w30 XG11665 filter changed every 8000kms.IMG_3965.jpeg

Where do you guys typically take your used oil/transfluid? I usually bring mine to the dump but they have stopped taking it.

I know most auto parts stores take it, I've just never needed to bring it to one before.

What about coolant?
You dont wanna know, shhh!

Nah but for real, I have like 8 years worth in jugs sitting behind the well house. I cant believe the jugs didn't fail by now. I should get them over to AutoZone.

In 2009 we got the rav 4 23,888, we got the cross 24,780 16 years later. Freaking 0w08, yeah two years maintenance free but I will at least go 5w20. No trans dip stick, so this will be fun figuring out changing that. The rav 4 paid off and running like a top, but she needed a new shiney thing. Why tall people can get in out of cross, as you can see it is higher off ground.

If you are not hot on using the specified 0W-8, check out some owner's manuals from other countries, just for grins. Try the Australian manual for the same engine. This is where I found the most extensive list of "recommended" viscosities for the engine in my 23 Lexus; NA specs 0W-20 ILSAC GF-6A; Australia specs 0W-20, 5W-20, 5W-30 and 10W-30 SL, SM, SN, SN+, SP or ILSAC GF-6. I'm sure that you know why NA specs 0W-8...........

Ah, the 'good old days' of gramps dumping waste oil on the Class 5 gravel to "keep the dust down", and dad dumping down the toilet cause "they'll take care of it at the sewage treatment plant."

I watched an iol test and Amsoil was no better that WALMARTS Hi Tec. I think Amsoil is a huge over priced ($10.00 a quart) rip off.

How would you get that info? CA cant even get recycling right, they dump 80% of plastic back into the ground, but as they tell it they are at the fore front of climate change, lol. I bet soon if not already 100% will be in landfill cause China ain't taking no more and it is too expensive for it to be done in USA. Bottom line, I wouldn't trust a single word for any state, and if you do that's on you. Bill Gates just proved the entire climate change was an entire hoax, lol. Soon as there was no more tax dolars to run the hoax, he shut down his "climate charity", lol. I wouldn't doubt if they put used oil in baby formula these fools.

When I was growing up living on a dirt road, I heard of someone that made an oil spreader than fit into 55 gallon barrel **** holes.

150 gallons plus was put onto the dirt road every year. The county road grader operator wouldn't grade that part of the road until the oil was all used up, then grade it smooth so it could be oiled again.

Our old neighbour used to keep all his old oil in a 45 gallon drum, and every fall he'd spray it on the bottom of his truck and car. This was way back in the 60's and 70's,and he probably had the least rusted out vehicles in the area

So the key to the Toyota transmission pan is simple, no dip stick, but an overflow device. It is simple, you can pull that orange tube through drain bolt, thus all the fluid at that level drains out. Here is the best, fills like a diff, as you are filling it when some spills over = full done. They do say you need to drive a bit and do it again, but only downside dropping pan they're is a couple quarts in it. the Mercedes is similar, they have a diff like window on the side = easy.

So why couldn't someone put this on a zf8? Seams simple enough.

I think Mazda did something similar, Mike. It's a weird transaxle, I've just started looking into it. Seems like 50k OCI is the thing with these, I'll probably just stick with the OEM's magic mouse milk being such a small bugger it doesn't take much. Mazda Spec "FZ", whatever TF that is.
