@Burla @Hemi395 I just dropped the pan as the SP has a chance of being here today, to discover something amazing.

Remember the hissing sound i was talking about when everything started going wrong? I thought that was the pump, expecting to find metal and guess what? there’s no metal in the pan AT ALL. Absolutely nothing on the magnet, nothing in the pan, nothing. No tiny flecks of anything. I got seriously lucky here.

I installed the new SP, truck is back into fully functioning order. I think it may be slightly overfilled as it’s shifting funny, but other than that she’s beautiful again. No issues except from the trans getting hot (this was a problem before i did anything too).

It might shift funny until you get one done or it eventually learns to shift again. I wouldn't worry about it[emoji106]

How hot is/was it getting?

Dangerously hot, it was matching engine temp. I pulled over and waited for it to cool down, and weirdly enough it shifted better when it was matching engine temp.

Engine temp is 204°F.

I think it may be a temp sensor issue as it still has P0934 that won’t go away, and that after sitting all night it’ll read 20 degrees higher than ambient temp.

Gonna do something i might regret and put the line pressure booster back on to see if that gets rid of the P0934 code. I replaced the line pressure sensor with an OEM mopar unit but same thing is occurring.

Yeah, I would be worried about that temp and an rfe, what fluid are you using? But all those those earlier issues are all gone? Now you have new SP and new VB? The 545vb or 65vb?

Using valveoline ATF+4. All previous issues are gone. 65RFE VB

How did you get that VB, the old one?

If the temps stay high, you might want to change that over to redline c+, ester based fluids buy you a lot of degrees in the bank. OEm fluids are fine for things that operate in regular temps, but anything that doesn't operate in general operating temps are going to benefit from high quality base fluids. This is how those oils help hemi tick, that area is very hot, metal out of tolerance is always gonna create pressure points that are high temp, and we now those esters are sticking on those locations better then group 3 oil. I only bring this up when it matters. PAo also gives good hot temp protection, redline= ester + pao. When did you notice for the first time these temps?

He bought the wrong valve body, the seller forgot the solenoid pack, but the funny thing is the 545 takes the other solenoid pack, the white one. But now he has 2 grey ones for his 65rfe, but I was wondering if he was able to get a new VB or he was stuck installing the old one with the new SP?

I first noticed these temps back in around April or March when it started to turn over into summer. The trans on the truck before this stayed cool all the time and had no problems. And thank you for the recommendation, i’m going to put it to use.

I think we've asked you this before but I forget what you said, do you have the thermostatic bypass valve in your trans lines? If so it could've gone bad that's why it's overheating....

Where is it located? I’ll replace it ASAP if that’s the issue. Also, the P0934 code completely goes away with the line booster installed. The truck is shifting like it’s new now. Very impressed.

Jeff has a dyi on this thread, second post.

Thank you, i’m also thinking it might be my clutch fan or e-fan as it only overheats at a stop while sitting for a while, and the engine does the same. The engine recently has been hitting new highs for how hot it’s been getting, it usually sticks at 204-206 but recently at a stop it’s climbed at high as 223. I might go through with the V6 eFan swap.

If it is Corey's valve, it has failed, and it needs to go. It's a known issue here.

On the 1500s with the 65 it's located on the passengers side of the trans cooler/AC condenser. Looks like a block with 2 lines going in and out...

That's cool so the codes gone and it's shifting normally?
