Where is VernDiesel to chime in on this?? when you need him. LOL
He changed his brakes at 293K & at 387K, granted he does have a tune w/Turbo braking (EcoDiesel) but most of the miles are towing travel trailers all over the country.

Truck is still a baby with 2900 miles, I just want to know how much life/miles the stock pads/rotors go?

Reason I ask is because my new job has a TERRIBLE stop and go commute in the morning, it's literally 1 hour of stop and go just to travel 25 miles. I drive roughly 60 miles a day. Here in Arizona we never get rain/snow so no rust issues for the rotors.

I had a 2013 1500 with 134,000 miles on it before I was t-boned and totaled the truck. The brakes were about 50%. Its whole life it pulled a 24' enclosed loaded car trailer.

I currently have a 2016 2500 with 212000 miles that pulls a 40' 2 car trailer daily. Just checked the brakes - they still look good.

So relax and enjoy your truck.

Even though you may get good life out of the pads and rotors I would recommend that the brakes be serviced annually.. ( clean and lube caliper slides)
you will find that the caliper pins may seize up causing an uneven wear issue..this may lead to a brake "job" even though the wear items still have a lot of life in them.

My 2014 Rear brakes just started squealing yesterday at only 24k miles.
I was on the highway a few days ago, started to brake, and the pedal went to the floor.
Scared the crap out of me.
It didn't do it again, so I thought it was a fluke.
I'm kind of shocked.
The rear left rotor is scorn already, probably junk.
The rear right is fine.
The front brakes have plenty of meat on them.
I don't drive the vehicle hard, I do drive all city.

Sounds like you lost a pad on the rear. Happened to my truck as well, pad separated from the backing plate. Luckily only while backing out the garage so I didn't ruin the rotor. Pedal went to the floor and I saw the pad material lying on the ground.
Check your left rear brake, if the rotor is toast you probably only have the metal backing plate left.

If you tow other peoples trailers there's a tendency to dial up their brakes a little to save your own. Not saying he does, but the miles he gets on brakes points in that direction.

I see this is an old thread but figured I'd bring it up again to see how long everyones brakes are holding up?

I am still on the OEM with 35k miles on my truck.

Here's a new Wagner Thermoquiet pad next to an OE pad at 108,000 miles.

I'd say you have quite a ways to go on yours yet, and even if you tow alot, still should last for a good bit.

Change my brakes and rotors at 100000k. Mostly highway driving
Wow 100,000,000 miles from a set of brakes has to be a record.
