Those that are having Alfaodb crashing issues after the 2.1.6.3 update, post your Android device. Maybe we can identify a pattern of devices.

I'm running Alfaodb version 2.1.6.3 (auto updated) on my Note 9 (Android 8.1.0) and Galaxy Tab A (Verizon, Android 8.1.0) both crash when writing a parameter to the BCM.

Updated, added Android version. Both devices are crashing with 2.1.6.3

Crashes when trying to make a change to body computer module settings only.
Connects without issue and scans for faults without issue in the BCM.

Can connect and do changes in other modules - engine, radio, etc. without crashing.

So on mine at least is appears the BCM settings is the only one affected with the latest update.

Might be easier to narrow it down if those that DON’T have the issue post what they’re using.
Not sure what I have as I’m an Android rookie and I don’t have it with me now. It’s the cheapest no name Chinese tablet on amazon. It crashes on me only when trying to make a change in the BCM. I can still make changes in the RF hub.

My guess is if it only crashes when changing the BCM, its an Alfa thing and not an Android/interface/whatever thing.

If it was an Android/interface/whatever thing, I would think NO changes would work without crashing.

At a minimum it has to be some combination of Android version\hardware\alfa. If it was simply an Alfa bug it would behave the same for everyone.

We’ll only know for sure, I guess, if we can get just one person with Android to confirm that they can follow through with a BCM change on the new version.

Obviously a really tiny sample, but 3 people have posted Android versions...the 2 that had failures are both running Android 9 .....

LG G6 running Android 8 just crashed trying to make a change to the BCM.

If it wasnt so damn cold out I would use adb debug and watch the dump when the app crashes.

Any other Android geeks out there with adb setup on a laptop?

Congrats, I'm sure you will not regret it. There is so many things you can do with this setup.

I have not messed with any of the inverter codes but I found the following just skimming through a few minutes ago.

Inverter Status Input Present
Inverter Enable Relay Output Present
DC to DC converter Present

Best thing I can say is make detailed notes of each change you make so you can revert back if you have adverse affects. Also, let us know and post your findings!

The headlights and harness have settings inside the program but maybe someone more aware of the process of swapping out the housings and harnesses can chime in. As far as the led lamps, the only thing I have done with any of the settings is the led license plate lamps. I changed the setting in mine to remove the pesky lamp out. I no longer get the message but then again I probably will not receive the warning of lamp out either because even with the bulb removed I get no message now.

Don't know if you are interested, but I used Lasfit LED bulbs for my plate lights, reverse lights, 3rd brake and cargo lamps. Zero lamp out warnings and very inexpensive.

Updated, added Android versions

It blows up on me while attempting to make changes in the BCM.

I'm running a ZTE Z971 Chinese Crap Phone on Android 7.1.1.

I also have it on my Amazon Fire 8 Tablet (Google Play Enabled) and I haven't tried that yet....

UPDATE: The Amazon Fire 8 Tablet crashes too but instead of kicking me out totally, it just restarts with fresh run of the application. It's not connected to the Bluetooth or anything.
