Has anyone weighed an aftermarket rim like a 20x10 fuel or motor metal? I want to change my summer tire setup soon and want some more tread, but also somewhat lightweight. I’ll be putting on a Nitto 420s 305/50/20 hopefully

Most wheel makers list the weight of their wheels.

Cast aluminum, which is used by most, is lighter than OEM steel wheels and about the same as OEM cast wheels. If you go up a size, the wheel will be a bit heavier. Also, increasing tire size can increase the total unsprung weight of your wheels and tires.

The lightest wheels, and the most expensive wheels, are forged. Nice, strong and light; they are great for weight savings. But they can empty your wallet.

What I'd do is get the weight of your stock wheel and tire, then get the weight of the rim and tire package you are going to install and compare them.

Check Discount Tires site or Tirerack etc, wheels have listed weight. I’m running aftermarket 17’s that are 26lbs each.

I have stock 20” rims and 33” a/t tires, last I weighed them was 77-80lbs total. I plan on having a set of cheap 17” rims with slicks for racing but still want a somewhat lightweight street setup. This is what my overall street look will be going for be414185b3fb80910b56ce73fc4e2659.jpg

I have both Moto Metals and Fuel Vapors. Never weighed them, but they are heavy. I think the Fuel Vapors weighed more. Had them mounted to 33" MT's last week and I couldn't get them out of my truck without risk of pulling my back out. Easily over 100 pounds or I'm just getting weaker by the day and can't gauge weight anymore!

As stated above, the weight should be listed on manufacturers site.
