Does the addition of a CAI kit on these trucks generally require a tune?

I installed a Mufflex muffler unit (DOD24M) to my Ram and would like to add a Mopar, S&B, or other CAI to it also, but I'm not going there if I need to do a tune. I've heavily modded many vehicles in the past and I'm just not interested in going down that road again.

Thanks for the help!

P.S.- For those interested, here are a couple videos of my 2000 Corvette that I did a "little" work to.

You are in luck, you do not need a tuner to add a CAI. Not that adding a tuner would not help get a little more out of it.

Can you elaborate, Joe?

Thanks! ;)

It's only $300 and it's well made and sealed. The Mopar version just allows hot air from the engine compartment to be sucked in like a K&N. Check out moesperformance.com for pictures. I had one on my Ram before I traded it in and I loved it.

Thanks, Greggo!

You're probably right about the cost, but I'm not convinced there's a pickup truck in the world worth over 40K either! :D

Like the guys said, no tuning required for just an intake. The Hemi motor responds well to mods without having to go crazy with tuning. Adding a tune down the road will obviously allow you to get the most out of each mod, but it is not required.

Opinions are like butts, but when I threw my hard earned cash in the ring I went with the Vararam. It is a nice true ram air system and you can tell its effective when you mash it on the interstate and the truck feels like it never wants to stop pulling!
