FWIW, tried the voice to text this morning on my radio and it worked. I was able to send a non-canned message to my wife.

Jared I believe you said you are now using a 2014 radio now, if you are it would be highly unlikely the one year free trial of uconnect is still good on it? So maybe it is working because of the other variables in this like;

What firmware version are you using on your radio?
Are you using your SPH-L710 if so what software version is on that?
Also does your radio sync and store your text messages in the sent and inbox?

So while talking to Rick yesterday, I came up with a idea that I believe will be well received. The backup camera is only good if you need to backup to a trailer, but what about once the trailer is attached and you need to see behind it? The idea is to utilize the cargo cam input on the radio, and simply run a harness to the tailgate area. When you attach a trailer simply plug in 1 more plug for the video signal. You could mount the camera to the trailer with magnets or permanently whatever you would like.

There are a ton of products out there that do exactly the same thing, many with no wires at all. IE wireless camera systems that not only monitor the back and or sides of the trailer but even the inside for say a horse trailer.

Many of these systems are cell phone caompatble so you would not even need a screen. Another way would be to just hook up the wireless receiver to the lockpick and feed it to the radio that way, no harnesses needed at all.

Which brings up a question, if you fabbed a harness to do this, folks would pay you for it. But that would not even work without buying a lockpick (abt 425.00) or customtronix jailbreak silver (abt 200.00). Plus the camera

Yea im sure the trial is over. My phone is on 4.4.2, radio is on 15.26.1 (newest) and the radio does log all my texts.

This is exactly what I'd like to have ! Hope you make up a kit for this including a camera , instructions for install and a (order the length of secondary harness ) for your desired mounting location .

Keep this idea going , I'd like to be a test subject for the first install !
I could post up the install with pictures & notes ...

I have the 15:26 1 firmware as well. My phone sincs with my radio and shows all my texts ect just can't voice text. I also can't use any apps or fo anything not Sirus related. It keeps telling me I need a subscription. I wanted to ask real quick. I ordered a 911 mirror with auto dim. I also have the correct harness. I dont have the comfort control buttons on my radio. Should the auto dim on my new rearview work?

Get them to flash the code and it'll come under comfort on the radio.

Please tell what dealership is going to flash the RA4 and Cargo Cam codes in a truck that did not come with them? Where do we go to do that and for how much? Finding a dealer to do that aint gonna happen.

911 code is a dealer allowable code along with the RA4...

My truck shows the RA4 code on my availible options list on the computer. I was shocked when I saw it there. We were adding the blinker/puddle codes for the mirrors. I saw it when he was scrolling through the options screen. I just chickened out and didn't have him add it yet. Might give it a try and see if it changes anything. I only bought the mirror thinking I could add the sharkfin and see if maybe I could get my voice text to start working again but after reading more posts I don't think it will make a bit of difference.

I've been playing around with the voice commands since learning I could send text messages. The ability to play songs via voice commands is pretty handy too. I've learned that if the title contains Spanish, you have to say it "in English". So "Bailando" needs to be pronounced "baylando".

To answer the question about text messages, the sent voice text does show up on the phone's sent items in a conversation.

Mine showed the RA4 code ss available as well and the service manager added to my vin on his computer, guess what it does not show up on the Wi tech pod though, so they still cannot add it to my truck without Dealer Connect adding it to my build sheet. Besides that the RA4 code would not enable the Cargo cam or front cam port anyway. As trucks that come with the RA4 do not have that port enable anyway, unless they came with the Cargo cam as well. If it was that easy to enable the cargo cam port Customtronix would not be in business.

We're talking about the 911 mirror.... Nothing about a camera

I think you misunderstood the function. They are talking about a Jailbreak type harness in the tailgate area that can have a different camera input plugged in bypassing the factory backup camera while towing a trailer. The harness would run to a different camera on the back of the trailer and would be activated by the reverse gear.

I am not misunderstanding anything the post said it would use the Cargo Cam input on the Radio. I then asked how would you enable the port, the response was to have dealer flash the code. So I asked how, and what dealer will do it?

The RA4 has three separate video inputs only the backup camera inputs are enabled by the manufacture of the radio and Fiat. There is currently only two ways to enable the additional ports, that being the Cargo Cam (as stated in the above post) and the Front Cam. Either of these would be ideal because they do not shut off at 10 MPH. One way to enable these additional ports is to use Rax Jailbreak this would cost an additional 200.00, the other way is to add a sales code for the OEM mopar LED Chmsl, good luck making that happen. I'm done enough about this

OK well then add my idea to the list as a simplified solution that I think many would want.

If you had it paired to another uconnect radio, delete that entry from your phone and restart it. Perform a factory reset on the radio if you haven't already and the first step didn't work, then try pairing again.
