1st: I’d like to say thanks to Moe’s proformace for their service, products, sales and rapid shipping. I just received my CST 180 thermostat. Can’t wait to install.

2nd: can anyone help me find a heat resistant silicone mat to replace the underbelly one that’s under the vararam intake?

I called vararam and explained that it harderens up, cracks and then falls down, which would lay right on top of the engine. It starts where the mat is riveted to the body of the intake. They said well you would have to buy a whole new one. So I’m like, you can’t sell me a 12”x16” or larger piece that’s just laying around for manufacturing? Yeahhhhhhhh noooooo! he’s words. So I have been looking for one but having issues in finding one. At the very least size would be 12”x14” I think. Willing to buy even if it’s 24”x24” but at a reasonable price of course. If anyone can help me by posting a link or directing me to a place that would sell this, would be much appreciated.

I would say you probably be better off going with a different product by the time you find a custom piece to replace with.

One that would be factory type fit not something just cut up and screwed in with a replace piece.

It may be pricey but maybe fab it from a carbon fiber sheet. It’s a great insulator against heat.

How hot do you think the temp gets for this underbelly heat shielding?

Have you looked into those silicone grilling mats???

Otherwise you could try a local industrial belt & hose company.... I use to work for one and we had the stuff above like Dinky posted a link to on Amazon.

This is perfect just wish it was in black tho. I think I’m still going to get this one anyways.

Yeah most high temp stuff will be orange. You can find black just type in Google "Black high temp silicone mat".

I called vararam again and spoke to someone that sent me the piece including rivets with washers.
Thanks vararam!

Thats great man, let us know how hard that is to replace. I'm kinda surprised they gave you a hard time the first time you called, I've talked to them 3 times and all 3 times they've been very nice and accommodating

I'm a little surprised about the results of the first phone call also. Their customer service is usually really good. Maybe it was one of those "day after the night before" things------LOL
I'm glad they finally took care of you.
