2015 RAM 2500, built in 2014. Original software version was 15.17.5, downloaded your 17.11.07 file and installed in 50 minutes without issue. Thanks!

FYI, Uconnect website said update available, but got the pop-up "error try again later" after entering VIN. Called them, they said website still not working (first tried a month ago), said my options were either wait for an OTA update or go to the dealer. Called dealer, they said as I was past 3 yrs/36000 miles, no OTA update, and they wanted to charge $60 to do it for me. So very happy to get your file. Let me know if you want any additional info.
Good info but I feel that's crap they wanted to charge you $60 for a firmware update.

Yep , that info should be available on their broken website for free or the OTAshould happen ...again for free .

Honestly I'm surprised they were only gonna charge $60.00 ( crooks ) due to the update taking basically an hour or more to complete. I had a dealer that was gonna charge me $90.00 to flash the XAC sales code .
I ended getting it for free and the entire process once in the stall took the technician 7 minutes.

They can do it in the parking lot and literally take 1 minute of their time to insert the update USB and click yes when prompted to update.

I'm just glad I found a good dealer here , I never use the dealer , but for recalls and such I'm lucky to have a great one only 8 miles from my work [emoji106][emoji106]

Anybody have a link where I can get the obd genie? I know there are a few out there. I'm looking for the one where you can flash codes. I mainly want it to add the SD card option back. Thanks

https://www.obdgenie.com/

Go to the Chrysler group section. It will be the one for media.

I just went back to the OBD Genie website and looked for it. I don't see it listed anymore in their available genies. When I bought mine it was listed under Media Package. I am sure if you call them they can make one up for you they program them right there in the house.

Think I found it. It would be the system programmer C-VES for $199 correct?

No that's not it. That is for adding audio video inputs. The one you want is for adding the media ports Bluetooth,AUX,USB and SD card. I just went back and checked again and it's definitely not listed anymore. I'm not sure why its not listed but I'm sure you could have them make you one up. Tell them you want the genie to enable the media ports in the 8.4.

They now require you to send the actual radio in to them to program the media ports directly. I don't know if this is because something changed with later radio fw or so they could charge more for the service.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I believe one of their reps posted it about a year ago.
May want to shoot them an email to confirm, but let us know what you find out if you do..

I'm not sure. I know when I had the media ports enabled in my 2016 radio I mailed the radio to them but they said they couldn't do it that way and mailed it back to me with a genie to download the codes directly to my truck. I was told that the 2015-16 and 17 radios cannot be programmed by them and the setting had to be changed in the BCM of the truck itself. Maybe it has something to do with the new firmware?

I may have it all backwards. Used to be $100 to activate (mail in Radio?) and now it's $200 because of the genie to do it. Idk

You used to be able to set the ports in the Radio by using a JTAG connector on the main board of the radio. The new 17.xx.xx Software blocks all external diagnostic communications which made it a moot point. Only way to change from a AUX/USB to AUX/USB/SD is to reprogram the BCM with an AE/Genie/Some Other tool
