Thanks Burla.....good to know
I see RP has slight advantage over Mobile1 with media filtration but everything else pretty much equal.
Don't think it has a $5.82 advantage though.
Amazon selling RP for $14.99
Walmart selling Mobile1 for $9.17

But thanks to your info I will now be using the M1-210A over the M1-113A

One thing to consider is those tests where when the media was brand new fresh, where 100% spun micro glass shines is the longer in use the better it gets. Fram Ultra that won the test as a whole is cheaper then m1 and doesn't have the paper element. I would suggest you try one of each and cut open your filter, see if the m1 stiffens up, if it does then you simply have higher micron contamination rolling around your engine.

My manual states 5-30w synthetic. I just changed it this last weekend to 0-40w Mobil 1. LOL
I have the same in my 2011 2dr. Rubicon and wife's 2015 GC.
In my opinion, the 5-20w flows too thin at operating temperature. I live in Texas so
a thicker at operating temperature is better.
Just my .02.
how do you like it now thats youve been using it a few months

Don't think the newer Mobile1 filters (A) have paper element, its synthetic.
Went from 15k miles to 20k on the new ones, which I would never attempt.

This is what the current m1 filter page says...

Mobil 1 oil filters are key to getting the most from your motor oil. Our advanced performance filters for cars and motorcycles use synthetic blend media to help you get better engine performance and longer engine life.

They still use paper blend...

So the key word is blend that makes it paper?

On the K&N filter, the rubber seal ring is not crimped in the canister like the Amsoil and RP filters.
Fitzy,
i dont think the crimp around the oil seal really has a purpose after its installed. The rubber ring stays seated in the groove after installation.
The K&N filters that leaked on my hemi`s were both leaking at the metal crimped area on the body of the oil filter, not the o-ring rubber seal.
Terrible K&N craftsmanship and construction is why they are leaking. Only reason the rubber seal would leak, is the installer didn't install it properly.

I seen that but they still do not say exactly what their filter media consist of only saying synthetic blend. So I assume its cellulose (paper) & synthetic fibers meshed together.
Yeah i think the same thing too. I dont think these oil filter companies will give up their recipe secrets though.

The reason they leak from the gasket and possibly the reason that people are reporting that the filter loosens during service is because center hole is not tapped square to base plate.

I would have to agree, i`ve seen that too. My problem was the seam/crimp, both mine leaked at the crimped part of the filter body.

Anyone have a part number for the oil funnel that locks into the fill port on the Hemi like the oil cap does. I can find them for 3.6 and 6.4 but they do not say they fit the 5.7.
