hello everyone
i'm wondering if anyone has come across this issue or might have any suggestions. After tracing down many electrical issues with my 2019 ram 1500. I have finally gotten down to a P2138 code indicating improper voltage reading from the accelerator pedal sensor. Just for grins and because it was super easy and fairly inexpensive I went ahead and replaced the pedal and that is not the issue.

For a little backstory this all happened shortly after doing an MDS delete on the truck. I added a disable tuner to turn off mds after the physical delete. There were a multitude of electrical codes that came up but after figuring out we had a bad PCM we replaced that and all the codes except this one went away. I'm kind of thinking something is at least partially grounded out or there's a can bus problem. I ordered an oscilloscope so I can check the canvas signal. One thing that really puzzles me is the P2138 is very intermittent as far as how long it takes to cause a throttle problem but it happens 99.9% of the time. Sometimes it will happen within minutes of starting the truck and other times it will take an hour or two or even longer to show up. When I turn the truck off and back on again the code resets or at least the accelerator works for a time

I fought that code, replaced the peddle assembly and throttle body to no avail, turned out it was a bad connector to the throttle body, picked up a wire repair kit at the dealer, and have never had any issues since. Not saying it's your issue, but you might want to check out the connector

I will absolutely check that out. Oscilloscope came in today so I will also check the canbus system.
I'm guessing the connector gives more issues then we think,as my local dealer had a dozen of them in stock when i needed one,and they don't normally stock that many of a certain item unless it's a known issue. Not saying it's your issue, but definitely worth checking out.
