Hi all! I need to carry a lot of wall end cap soon and I can't figure out if my little truck can handle it. I have read about payload capacity, but all the estimates are different. My door sticker gives GVWR and GAWR, but not payload. Can I deduce it from the info on the door sticker? Or does anyone else know what the max payload would be? Thanks in advance!

2003 Ram 1500 4.7 2wd 3.55 gears

Mods (in case it makes a difference): k&n intake, custom 3" dual exhaust, SC 87 tow tune, RC 3" level kit

A quick google search says your truck can tow 8650# or put 1450 to 1850# in the bed, depending on other items you have with and passenger weights. Good luck,

Payload should be on a yellow sticker on the drivers side door jamb. Not sure if they had them back then or maybe it has fallen off? One way to find out is to weigh your truck and subtract that weight from your GVWR. That will give you your payload. Any mods made will make no difference. No matter what you do your truck cannot weigh more than your GVWR and be legal. Can it haul more? Probably. Will it be safe? Who knows. Have others done it? Likely. Would it be legal? Nope.

I had done a Google search, but I got all kinds of different weights, just like here, between 1500lbs and 1900lbs. I'll be conservative and assume it's around 1600lbs, which should be fine for the block I need. I'll check my other doors for stickers as well. Thanks, all!

I believe my 2003 2500 had two stickers on the driver's door jamb and one had payload on it. If you have only one then only way to get it is to follow dhay13 advice.
